Give Thanks!

Hi, I am back to share a few cards in celebration of giving thanks!  The fantastic Sara Emily is hosting the Frilly and Funkie Challenge this time around.   She has challenged us with "Give Thanks".

Here is the challenge as described by Sara Emily:

"We have so much to be grateful for! The Frilly and Funkie team is thankful for our loyal readers and our newest visitors! For this challenge, simply create a vintage or shabby chic project that expresses gratitude."

I have been thinking about the fun farm animals from Stampers Anonymous and using them in a rustic farm based card.

I searched in pinterest for some vintage images using the farm animals and it inspired me to create the following card:

And since I can never just create one image as I am playing around I ended up with a herd of cows and decided to create a rustic Christmas card as well:

Isn't  he adorable with his little ribbon bow tie?

I thought it would be funny to brand him with a north pole postage mark.

I masked and sponged the various stripes and blocked off areas of colors and stamps.  I do love layering my stamps and images. :)

Please come play along in the challenge.  The team will choose their top four picks with the winner being invited to join us as a Guest Designer here at Frilly and Funkie and the next three will receive Top 3 badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  I am wishing you all a day filled with family and blessings!

I have two tags today... I have been working on these for awhile and just finished them up.  They are for Linda's 12 Tags of Christmas.  She is hosting this challenge on her blog The Funkie Junkie and the challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique

First up is my tag inspired by her beautiful Week # 7 tag.  I finished my tag before she posted this weeks tag.  My tag has components of her tag from this week. Ha Ha...
I was inspired by the plaid in green and blue on Linda's Week #7 tag. I wanted to continue that rustic feel and used a green and blue combo which I emphasized with brown drawn stripes.

I then decided to add the reindeer and trees to go with the rustic design.  I added mica snowflakes.

My next tag is a case of Linda's Week #6.  Beautiful red and white snowy tag inspired me to create a pocket tag with snowflake cut-outs.

I cut one piece of cardstock which I scored to create a pocket. I then folded it over to die cut the snowflakes in the front cover.  I lined the inside with acetate to help keep the snowflake flat.
I stamped the background with Vermilion and a background stamped. I embossed the cover with white embossing pasted sprinkled with crystal glitter while wet.  I masked the snowflakes with the leftover snowflakes to keep the acetate clean of embossing pasted.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Joy

Hi!  I wanted to share my latest creation inspired by Linda's Tag# 5.  She is hosting on her blog The Funkie Junkie a 12 tags of Christmas challenge sponsored with prizes by the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I was inspired by her beautiful Santa Image and then the lovely tree circles.  I decided to create a wood grain background.

I created a lovely wood grain embossed background to showcase the fun framed Santa.
I love the wood circle that Linda used in the background and decided to use a mask and frame Santa with the edge of that image.

I then added some fun embellishments!

That's all for me today!

Time Worn

Welcome back!  The challenge this challenge at Frilly and Funkie  is hosted by the awesome Autumn! The challenge this time is Timeworn and Autumn describes it as follows:

" As the last leaves fall from autumn trees, we are reminded of the beauty of yesterday. The leaves crinkled underfoot, the clock ticking onward, a fleeting memory... For this challenge, we would love to see your timeworn vintage or shabby chic creations celebrating the beauty of the aged, dated or weathered."

I was thrilled with this and have been thinking about leather.  Soft worn textured leather.  I decided to have a play with my inks and cardstock to see if I could replicate the texture of aged worn leather.  I will be sharing the results of my technique Saturday on the Frilly and Funkie blog.  So make sure to stop by to check it out.

I can't share much more info on this because it will all be shared on Saturday. But I will tell you it was a lot of fun and I have a few other tricks to share.

The team will choose their top four picks with the winner being invited to join us in a Guest DT spot here at Frilly and Funkie and the next three will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Come join in the fun and share your timeworn beautiful art with us!
