I have been working on a project all week that is keeping me pre-occupied and not getting much done. I hate when I get stuck in the midst of a project and can't let it go and it blocks all my creativity. I decided last night to put it aside. I used the same background paper to create a card for the Moxie Fab World Textured to Perfection and Mojo Monday Sketch #211.
Details:
Old sheet music with a layer of white paint smeared and brown chalkboard glimmer mist spritzed across the front. A few drips and rings in the same chalkboard ink were added for more texture.
The bird is die cut from the sheet music with a stamped image of french post card.
The birdcage is die cut from white cardstock and stamped with the same postal card stamp.
The ribbon is white silk which was died with Antique Linen re-inker and spritzed with the same brown chalkboard ink. The other paper used on the background is a textured cardstock sanded to show the embossing.
Here is the sketch:
and did you ever have one of those bad hair days....
My daughter wanted a picture of this hair-do on her barbie yesterday... Apparently she won the crazy hair contest. :)
Hope that gave you a smile...
Suzz
Beautiful monochromatic card - love all the added texture! Fab use of the sketch! I'm pretty sure I've had one of Barbie's bad hair days!

ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you're talking about! :-) The project just blocks out everything else. LOL Well it sure didn't lessen your creativity Suzanne. This is a really beautiful card. Beautiful texture, patterns, and colors. Thanks for sharing it! :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing, Suzz - and so you! This is truly stunning!
ReplyDeleteLove love the textural background on this card and paired with the bird cage and gorgeous bow makes for a wonderful piece of creativity. I wake up with a bad hair day and look quite similar to that doll as I have red hair too LOL.

Love your card! The textured is amazing and the bird cage is just gorgeous. Cheers Tania
ReplyDeleteStunning card! LOL....I am impressed that your daughter has the Barbie dressed. Once my daughters had passed through the Barbie years my husband and I collected close to 30 naked Barbies stashed through the entire house and basement. I still come across an occasional Barbie dress in good condition.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Love the sheet music, the brown tones and all the texture.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this card Sue. Wish I could create something like that when my creativity is in full flow let alone when it's being stifled, lol!
ReplyDeleteAs for Barbie's hairdo, I think you have an artiste in the making for the catwalks!
