Country Christmas Tag

I love Linda's tag for this weeks twelve tags!  She used gingham bow and stars with little bells.  It just triggered the thought of an old fashioned Christmas decoration.  Her challenge is sponsored by her boutique The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I loved her little metallic stars and that was the first thing I tried to replicate.  I luckily had tons of stars in my scrap envelopes and pulled them all out to look at.  I found a set of cardboard stars and they were perfect!  I embossed them with Stampendous Aged Silver Embossing Enamel.

The background is painted white with acrylic paint and than you drag your Ranger Distress Ink Pad (Vintage Photo over the surface.  Repeat until you get the effect you want. I added a doily with a little sponging and script (Hero Arts).

The sentiment is from Penny Black and one of my favorites. I stamped in coordinating green to the beautiful gingham ribbon. Such a quick and easy tag and I really like it.  It will have to go on a package. :)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  2. Absolutely wonderful, Suzz! The textures in this are simply jaw-dropping... the stars, and the distressed doily, and the "scratched wood" in the background - absolutely brilliant!

  5. Oh my, I must say that this is sensational! I LOVE the way you tied on the bells so they dangle freely. Great woodgrain technique and the stamping on the doily is awesome - never thought of that and I LOVE it (and will be using it in the future :) Super piece of work and awesome entry into week #9!

    Hugs,
    Linda

  11. This lovely tag conjours up the atmosphere of a warm cosy Christmas by a log fire...... note I didn't say 'memories' as I've never spent a Christmas that way :-(. Never mind, they're still cosy ;-).

Love those stars and the little bells and the background is fab. In fact, what's not to love?
