All in the Family

It's time for a new Funkie part of the Frilly and Funkie challenge which I am hosting this time on the Frilly and Funkie Challenge blog.  The All in the Family challenge is to be inspired by your family.   It can be a favorite family memory, something from your ancestry, culture or just about your family.

At the end of the challenge the team will choose their top four picks. Our first place winner will be invited to join us in a Guest DT spot here at Frilly and Funkie. Three additional talented participants will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and adheres to the challenge guidelines will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

I had so many ideas running through my head, should I focus on our family road trips, family history, culture or pick one memory from all the different ones?  In the end I thought about our family and how it all centers around our home.

I created a mini house on a card reflective of how it all comes back to home base where our family gathers and we live together.  With our oldest two going off to school now and only one at home the time when we gather together in our home is the sweetest time of all.

I choose symbols and images to represent our family unit and placed them inside the house.  The number 5 is just representative of the number of us in our family.  I picked our state to represent on the card as we have not travelled far from many of our extended family and we are all located in the same area that we grew up in.  The little footprints are for our family members who are four footed present and passed.   I tried to capture a little bit of our family wrapped up into a card.

Don't forget to check out the  Frilly and Funkie blog to see the rest of the Design Teams awesome creations.
