The current challenge is hosted by the extremely talented Jenny and this is how she describes the challenge:
"As a trained touch typist I love vintage typewriters. I love the way they look and sound and the font they create. For this challenge create a vintage or shabby chic project and include a typewriter, typewriter keys, typeface."
I knew right away I wanted to use the Stampers Anonymous Inventor 1 stamps. I pulled out a ledger book in my stash to decorate to capture notes and measurements for a project I have going on.
I inked up some white cardstock using the Ranger Distress Oxides (Antique Linen & Ground Espresso). I splattered, sponged and sprayed water to get a mixed distress effect.
I then used the ledger stencil to add a hint of brown ledger lines over the background. I dug into my extensive collection of ephemera and found this lovely lady who reminded me of a secretary and a fantastic catalogue card from the library.
I stamped the old fashioned type writer over the back of one of the cards and layered them into the background.
I stamped the space bar along the bottom and then cut out the letters from the typewriter stamp to add as glossy letters.
On the inside I used the wallpaper pages to add a hint of colour and pattern.
And on the back side I continued with the library them and stamped the dates and columns and overlaid them with some pretty remnant rub-ons.
Thanks for stopping by!

Suzz, this is such a great project! I love the vintage color palette...it really ties all the elements together. Your inky panels are dreamy, too! What a treasure that old card catalog piece is! Wow! You will be inspired to come up with new techniques just so you can pull this beauty off the shelf and enjoy it! Such a clever, beautifully made way to present this challenge theme. Like everything you do, I love it!
ReplyDeleteSuzz, you really knocked this theme out of the ballpark with your amazing vintage ledger! I love a project that is both beautiful and useful, and you have certainly pushed all my buttons with this one! I just love how you've used that typewriter stamp--one of my absolute favs! Great vintage coloring, too! Love this! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh Suz this is just delightful. I love the composition, colours and images you used. Brilliantly designed and put together xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous and so very vintage. Love the layers on the front and the stamping and rub-ons on the back side are a lovely finish.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to find not only a wonderfully stamped and collaged front cover but a repurposed journal and equally fabulous back cover! Totally in love with this Suzz.
