Christmas Decorations

Good Morning!  I have been busy playing with some die cuts and creating Christmas decorations that can be attached to a gift and used as an ornament.

I started with the Basically Bare - Dress Form Die cut and the Basically Bare - Angel Wings.  I painted the form with white gesso and then sponged with antique linen.

I then took the lace and spritzed it with Tarnished Brass Stain Spray and then layered it on the dress form.  The background was stamped with the Memory Box - Dream stamp.  I found this bunch of holly in my Christmas Stash and added it to the waist.

The wings were covered with Idea-Ology Shimmery gold paper.  I then just stained a few flowers with the tarnished brass added a little glitter and made a flowery necklace.

My second project is two canvas hearts.

I stitched together two canvas hearts with a little stuffing inside.  The outside is simple with a little gold embossing paste using the doily stencil from Tim Holtz.  After it dried I spritzed with a pink mist.

I don't sew so this was a labor of love. If I had a sewing machine and knew how to use it I would have quickly sewn the edges. I love the rustic feel of the whip stitch.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Frilly and Funkie - Tis the Season
A Vintage Journey's - Vintage Christmas

Stylish Wings

I had a chance to play with the new Darkroom Door stamps and couldn't wait to ink up the new buttons background

I stamped the buttons using tea dye ink and distressed and sponged the edges.  I then pulled out the dress form die and cut a dress form.  I stamped the background stamp Floral in tea dye ink over the surface and highlighted the flowers with a coral watercolor pencil.  I sponged the edges with the Abandoned Coral ink.

I added the Eclectic Butterfly wings with a few snaps for accents.  The dress form received some embellishments with zippers and chains. I finished with the word stylish from the Darkroom Door Corsetry set.

Happy Saturday!

Creative Palette

I shared previously a few of the backgrounds I created using the new Stampendous Creative Palette.  Fran has a great video playing with the new palette.   I used those backgrounds and cut them up into a variety of shapes and sizes to create a patchwork background.

Since I started with a patchwork background I decided to continue with the sewing theme and pulled together a frilly dress using the new Stampendous Rubber Cling Dress Form.  I added the lovely sentiment using the   Beautiful Life  stamp.

For more inspiration using the creative palette head over to the Stampendous blog as the Design Team is featuring this week projects created using the new palette.
