Butterfly Perch

Today is another hopping day for the Stampendous DT.  We are still showcasing the fun SIMI Creative Wee Scapes products along with the Stampendous stamps.

This summer my husband picked up free mulch from our township.  When the township trims the trees or cleans up other wood debris they keep the mulch and pile it up.  All you have to do is haul it away.  Well the mulch that they provide usually has a bit more texture than the store bought mulch. :)

My project uses a piece of that mulch:

I was walking with the dog around the house and spied this rather large chunk of wood and brought it in the house to use for a project.  When we received our package of goodies from Wee Scapes I knew I was going to add some moss to my piece of wood.
The next step was to create a few butterflies to perch on the wood.
The butterflies are from the Jumbo Cling Butterfly Trio and the Butterflies set. I smeared yellow alcohol ink onto glossy cardstock over half of an 8 1/2 x 12 sheet of paper.   I stamped the butterflies using black Archival ink.  I colored the blue  with a waterbrush and  alcohol ink.  I poured the alcohol ink on my craft mat.  I used the waterbrush to paint the sections.  Be careful the alcohol will cause the ink to smear. After they had dried I added a coat of Versamark Ink and heat embossed with shimmery embossing powder.

My perch uses the Wee Scapes Green Cluster Foliage and some lovely little flowers.

Mermaids & Pearls

The Stampendous DT is hopping this week showing off the fun Wee Scapes products along with our Stampendous stamps.

I decided to create a seascape using a giant shell:

The shell received a coat of Adirondack Pearl Paint and touches of metallic distress stains.  I created my pearl from STAETDLER Fimo Clay.  I gave it a coat of metallic stains as well.  I created a sea bed by smearing tacky glue along the bottom and sprinkled Wee Scapes Foliage Cluster along the bottom. I also glued the grass into the background to give the effect of sea weed.  The mermaid was stamped using Memento and colored with Copics. The shells were heat embossed and coated with Aged Gold Embossing Enamel. I stamped several seahorses which were colored and sprinkled with gold glitter. The whole desk was covered in glitter when I was finished. :)

Products; Stampendous Mermaid , Wee Scapes grass, green foliage cluster, Stampendous Glitter, Aged Gold Embossing Enamel,  Copics, Memento Black Ink

Tend a Garden

This week the Stampendous DT are sharing projects using the Stampendous stamps and Wee Scapes materials.

My project today starts from an old hinged tin:

I covered the entire tin with Wee Scapes  Grass Mat which is a roll of paper with the moss/grass texture.  Very fun and could be used on the bottom half of a card or die cut.  I stamped the beautiful Stampendous Spring Bouquet  using black ink on white cardstock and colored using my STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell watercolor pencils.  I added a touch of the Wee Scapes Foliage Clusters around the edges with the Stampendous Bronze Glitter.  The sentiment (Thoughtful Wishes)  was stamped on vellum and torn to add to the edges.  The butterflies are colored with glimmer mist.

The inside of the tin continues the scene but I added a touch of whimsy on my butterflies:

I coated my white male figures with a coat of ultra fine glitter and attached them to my butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by!
