Impression Obsession Challenge

I created this card for the Impression Obsession challenge last week. I thought I would share it today as I haven't had time to create anything new yet..

The challenge was Red. I decided to ink up my new Cover a Card background in red and layer on a few more layers of IO stamps in red.

Check out the next IO challenge it starts on July 1st.

Thanks for stopping by...

Impression Obsession Challenge

The Impression Obsession challenge this week is to make a card for Easter. You can find the challenge HERE.

I have a couple of fantastic Cover a Card stamps from IO and wanted to use them on this card. I don't have any Easter stamps from IO so I was a little bit more spring like in my approach.

I went on line and looked for some Easter quotes and found this lovely one from Alice Palmer. I like the idea of life, love and peace being re-born as I think of Easter and spring as being like that.

The background on the green is stamped using the new Ranger Distress Ink Crushed Olive and uses the IO stamp Tapestry 2. It is a very pretty flowery background.

The second IO stamp I used was the Greenery stamp on the background of the words. I stamped that using the Pear Tart color from Memento.

The last stamp I used from IO was the birds and they are stamped using the versafine vintage sepia and kissed onto the tapestry stamp.

The punches are all EK success.

Well off to clean the house... ARGH! I hope you have a lovely Saturday and lovely weekend. I have a post lined up for tomorrow which I think is really cute.

Impression Obsession Weekly Challenge - Shapes

This week the new Impression Obsession Challenge is to create a card that is shaped. The challenges are fun and the prize is a 25.00 gift certificate to IO. I already was selected once before and it was so much fun shopping for my stamps!

I wanted to create a flower. This sent me searching through my punches and dies to see which one might make a good petal. I decided to use my trusty Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 4 die.

This is how it looked when I was finished...
The laying flat view:

Recipe:

  1. Cut 6 petals from white card stock of each size. The sizes started from the second to smallest die and up two more sizes.
  2. Spray all the pieces with a lovely shimmery coat of Lemon Zest Glimmer Mist.
  3. Lay the medium petals in the center of the largest petals and spray them with Tuscany Sun Glimmer Mist.
  4. Spray the smallest petals with Tuscany Sun Glimmer Mist.
  5. Stamp the largest and smallest petals with red pigment ink.
  6. Stamp the middle petals with orange pigment ink.
  7. Sponge the edges of the large petals with brown dye ink.
  8. Spritz the white card stock for the bees with the Lemon Zest glimmer mist.
  9. Stamp the bees using a black pigment ink.
  10. Apply orange stickles to the bees and the button for the center of the flower.
  11. Each petal was rolled onto a pencil first the long way and then in half.
  12. Die Cut two circles for card base. 3 1/2".
  13. Attach the largest petals on the bottom of the petal to the circle. Push the petal up in the middle and flat again at the end.
  14. Repeat for all petals.
  15. Attach button in the middle.
  16. Cut out bees and pop dot onto card.

Impression Obsession Challenge - White

The Impression Obsession Challenge this week is White. I love all-white cards. Since I don't own many IO stamps for the holidays, I decided to use a lovely house image (H1745) and stamp it in grey...

Yup! Not in grey... :) I stamped it and played with it and decided I wanted more emphasis so I pulled out my plum and this is where we ended up. There are little snowflakes entwined into the ribbon and glitter everywhere the snow should be.

Very simple and much prettier and softer in real life. (I promise)

Products:

  • Memento - Soft Plum
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8
  • Impression Obsession H1745 (Cling Mount)
  • Glitter
  • Glue Pen
  • EK Success - Snowflake Punch
  • Purple Stones, Ribbon - Unknown
  • Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder

I am off to play with more tags!
