CR84FN35 - Pressing Flowers

The lovely colors this week for CR84FN  and the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Fanatical about Botanical had me out in my garden looking at the lavender.

To create the main image I pressed the flowers onto cardstock by pounding on them. I had lots of misses with this technique. I loved the soft muted tones from the lavender and they worked wonderfully with the CR84FN colors.

The background behind the flowers is Hero Arts Design block and I stamped it using the Hero Arts sand shadow ink. The wheat in the main panel on the card is stamped with gray and light tan dye inks.

The butterflies (Hero Arts Antique Engravings) are stamped in gray and colored with watercolor pencils.

I left the lavender to dry out over night and included them as a detail behind the main image.

The sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps - Flowers in Bloom - FS1119 - D.

And because I had the colors out I created a second card for both challenges :

The flowers are from the beautiful Stampendous Ranunculus Field and  the sentiment is Stampendous Friendship Assortment.  The papers are Lily Bee Design.

The beautiful CR84FN35 colors are courtesy of Creative Mint:

Moxie Fab World Fanatical about Botanical

I am loving the fanatical about botanical challenge over at Moxie Fab World. Me and my flowers are never far apart.

The peonies (Jumbo Cling Peony) are stamped in versamark and embossed using the new Aged Silver Enamel from Stampendous.  I love the new embossing powder and I am going to have to hunt up all the new ones as I saw Fran demoing them at the show and they were fun.

The flowers were colored using glimmer mists and a water brush. The ribbon was died to match.
The dragonfly (Dragonfly Vine) looks like an old fashioned hair pin.The dragonfly was stamped twice once on acetate and once on cardstock and embossed using the same embossing powder.

The additional flourishes in the background are Class A Peel Stickers - Leaf Swirls. They were an easy addition to add a little leaf around the flowers.

Around the edges versamark was sponged on and then embossed using the Aged silver enamel.

Have a lovely Saturday!

Happy Birthday Tanya!

Today is our DD 10th birthday. She is our youngest which makes it harder to see her grow up. :)

I created a patriotic themed card for her as she is a July baby and she thinks that her cards should be red white and blue and patriotic themed.

The background is Hero Arts Design Block, The little girl image is from Penny Black.  Tanya selected the stamp set to create her card from. I modified the image to have her holding the star balloons. The background fireworks is from a Northwoods Sparkler stamp. The script in the background behind the fireworks is the Declaration of Independence pasted into the word processor and printed out on card stock to create a custom pattern paper. :)

I also created a card for the Colour Q Challenge #95  this week:
I picked up a few new Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite things and this little girl and her kites were perfect for the colors of the challenge.  The background is another Hero Arts Design Block.

The sentiment is from Verses called Think Lovely Thoughts FS1140-D.

Here is the fun inspiration photo:

Hope you are having a tenth birthday kind of day! (where you are queen and everyone does everything for you!)

Artistic Outpost - July 2011 Release

I was so excited to see the new Artistic Outpost plates.  There are three new plates available: Halloween Treats, Apothecary and Frosty and Friends.  The Christmas and Halloween images remind me of  old fashioned cards and treats.  The Apothecary plate has some wonderful vintage images for Halloween or masculine cards and projects.  The plates are available to order now but won't ship until next week.

My first project uses a  Maya Road ATC Box to showcase a variety of the Apothecary images:
The images are from the new Apothecary plate along with a few images from Steampunk, Halloween Treats, and The Outpost.  I had so much fun mixing and matching to create a pharmacist box.
The edges were covered in tissue tape with a touch of distressing. Each box received it's own wallpaper from pattern paper to pages from a vintage book.  Each little ATC speaks to the pharmacy and the druggists who worked there.
The next project uses whimsical Halloween images to create a necklace and a pair of earrings.

This is a close up of the charms created by stamping on Shrinky Dink using StazOn. I heated them up with my heat gun with the exception of the skeleton he had to be shrunk in the toaster oven as his little legs and arms curled up.

The images are from the Halloween Treats, Apothecary, Haunted Halloween plates.

Tanya was willing to model the necklace and earrings for me. :)

The last project is from the sweet Frosty and Friends plate.

The little girl image is adorable with her sweet outfit. She was stamped using brown ink and colored with watercolor pencils. She sits on a doily with a touch of sponging and accented with Prima flowers and fall trim.
The design team has created some awesome projects and cards which you can go see in the Artistic Outpost Gallery. The design team is also sharing wonderful projects on their blogs:

Thank You!

Thank you all for leaving sweet comments for my daughter's card yesterday. She kept checking the blog to see the comments from you, and telling me and my DH about them.  I created this card  as a thank you for you all!
The colors were inspired from the Embellish Patterned Paper Color Trends challenge. This is also being submitted to the Simon Says Stamp and Show anything goes.

The paper is from the Bo Bunny  Timepiece Collection and worked beautifully for the colors. The images are from Stampendous Agapanthus Cluster and Friendship Assortment.

Stamp flowers multiple times using Versamark watermark ink. Emboss using Ranger Distress embossing powder Vintage photo.  Here is a close up of the distress powders. They give a nice texture to the solid images.

The flowers were colored with water brush and blue watercolor pencil.

Thank you!

Shopaholic

Hi! I'm Tanya Suzz's daughter and I'm turning 10 in four days. I started this card idea when I needed money for an Ipod touch that I'm saving up for so I made some bookmarks and cards and am selling them to my family, and when I showed my mom this card she loved it! She said she would put it on her blog and I would get to write about it.

This is the inside of the card this idea is from my sister who loves to shop!

Well that's it for today see you soon. Have a great day!

Love, Tanya

CR84FN34 & Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Celebrate

Part II of the CR84FN colors... I ran out of time yesterday to create something fun with the lovely colors so I played this morning. I was feeling inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger.

I dressed my little girl in a pretty yellow flirty frock like the Moxie Fab World inspiration photo:

The image is from B Line Designs. I think she is so sweet.  The sentiment is Amuse. The background paper was a gift from a friend.

The beautiful CR84FN34 colors are courtesy of Scott Pendleton:

Christmas Country Door

Another card thinking of cooler weather... Maybe I will do this all year long ... Cool cards when we are steamy hot and warm cards when we are freezing. :)

Playing in the Simon Says Stamp and Show your embossing, Moxie Fab World Fanatical about Botanical and the Class Act Challenge Christmas in July.

I stamped the Snowflakes Plate (Class Act, Inc. Chapel Road Artstamps) background using Versamark on tracing paper.  I then embossed using the white embossing powder. I distressed the edges of the vellum with a distressing tool and sponged Vintage Photo to highlight the edges.

The background of the card is a combination of kraft paper, white acrylic paint and vintage photo dragged across.  I was trying to give the effect of a rough wooden door with a wreath/door hanging of poinsettias.

The flowers (Poinsettia Plate) were all stamped using Ranger Archival ink on white cardstock. They are colored using watercolor pencils.

The fun additions were some glittery pieces of pine and a sheer ribbon.

Life is the Music

I had a little gift to share with a super sweet friend and I decided to recycle an old puzzle box  to hide a few treasures.

Cut pieces of paper (Memory Box Minuet) to size of top and sides of top half of the box.  Stamp sentiment using black archival ink. Sentiment from Verses Rubber Stamps.    Wrap tissue tape around the corners and edges of top half of box. It worked beautifully with the papers! Sponge edges with white acrylic paint.  Finish with a  touch of flowers and butterflies from Prima which were touched up with a little chunky glitter.

Here is what I started with:

The puzzle was fairly easy until we hit the bushes and the buildings. :) (The dog ate some of the pieces after we finished so the pieces were recycled and I held onto the box)

Roses

The Moxie Fab World challenge is Fanatical about Botanical which is definitely one of my favorite things to stamp.  The Mojo Challenge Blog is celebrating it's 200th sketch which provided me the inspiration for my design.

The stamps are from Stampendous . Another beautiful Jumbo cling called Rose Hips. I was excited last year when I first started seeing Rose Hips on my roses.  They are so beautiful mixed in with the roses.

I decided to stay with black and white on my design. (hard thing for me... I had the glimmer mist at hand but decided to leave the striking images with no color)

The background is embossed using the Sizzix embossing folder. I added a little accent of pieces from another punch with gems for my line on the right hand side.

The sketch from Mojo Monday:

Heading off to CHA today and can't wait to see the new products.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Embossing

The challenge is to show embossing at Simon Says Stamp and Show.

I had the most fun creating the background using Artistic Outpost stamps.  I started with stamping the ledger using Vintage Photo leaving the ink uneven.  Added some perfect pearls mister and vintage photo mixed and created ring marks.  Then the postcard with postage image using vintage photo.  Sponged the edges with the vintage photo.

The circles contain images from Home and the Outpost. Embossed with clear embossing powder to highlight the colors.

The stamps are from Artistic Outpost Ephemeral Backgrounds, The Outpost, Home.

Inks are: Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge.

CR84FN34 - Celebrate with Style

I used the lovely CR84FN colors this week to create this little shoe for my niece Christy..  She has a collection of porcelain shoes and I thought she would love a stylish shoe for her birthday.  (Of course there was money involved too. :)

The template for the shoe is from Creations by AR.  It is so easy to download the template and cut using the silhouette.  The paper is from American Crafts.  I added a few Prima flowers, some lace and bling.

The little tag is stamped using Hero Arts sentiment in bright pink.

The beautiful CR84FN32 colors are courtesy of Scott Pendleton:

Sunshine

The City Crafter Blog Challenge is Let the Sunshine In and the Hero Arts Monthly Challenge is Summertime.  This little card is inspired by those two challenges.

Here is the closed version of the card and the opened version looks like this:

The sentiment is Verses Rubber Stamps QQ1204-E and the template for the card is also from Verses Triptych Kit #3892. Love having this shape and can see using this again soon. :)

The background is the Hero Arts Music background and the layered flowers are Hero Arts stamps as well. The inks are Ranger Distress inks - Mustard Yellow, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo, Crushed Olive.

Hope your Saturday is off to a good start!

Surfs Up!

I combined the colors from the Embellish challenge - Nautical theme with the Wee Memories Summertime and the Lily Pad Cards Challenge to create a patriotic themed card all into one project.

I saw this cute Snorkle Tobie  at Some Odd Girl and envisioned him at the beach with the surfboards done in the patriotic colors! Some Odd Girl is the sponsor at Lily Pad this week.
The surfboards are hand drawn and created using Rocket Boy paper from October Afternoon.  The Sand is sandpaper torn along the edges.  I added a little spanish moss for texture along with the seashells from Hero Arts. The sentiment is also Hero Arts.

This is my last week with the Lily Pad Blog Challenge.  A truly wonderful team and good friends!

Falling Leaves

I combined  the ColourQ Challenge #93 colors and  the Moxie Fab World Stamp It challenge to create a little fall foliage!  I know I am out of season here but we do have a nice breeze blowing this morning! :)

The background and leaves are made using two stamps Memory Box - Maple Leaf 98201 and Memory Box Vintage Halloween Words G1802. The sentiment is Memory Box as well.

I mixed the distress inks Fire Brick, Rusty Hing, Crushed Olive for the leaves and the background is Tumbled Glass.

Here is the inspiration colors:

Shimmery Flowers

I am using the lovely sketch from the Christmas Challenges blog to showcase a few shimmery flowers.

The flowers are from the Chapel Road ArtStamps - Poinsettia Plate.  I stamped them on a page from a book using black archival ink. I colored them with watercolor pencils.  The entire surface was covered in Kaleidoscope embossing powder from Stampendous.

The rest was a layering of the beautiful Bo Bunny papers.

There was a bad storm that swept through here yesterday morning...

We lost our power yesterday for 12 hours. Nothing major and nothing life threatening. But I got a little taste of what it feels like to be without power and all the other conveniences. I did a lot of driving around yesterday as my two daughters were in two different places in the morning and I saw first hand the damage wreaked by a storm that lasted 45 minutes...

Our neighbors on the other side of the street from us still didn't have power last night.  We got home from my MIL around 8:00 and our power had just came on and I was so relieved...

I had a few pictures to share of the damage just on our street.  Our neighbor next to us has three old trees and all three were cut in half in the storm.  It really changes our skyline as he will have to take them all down.

Doesn't this look like a big pile of ice?  Well... It is our second patio table we have lost to storms.  They pitch up over the side of the deck and fly off and crash... Now to have to pick up all the glass from the grass.  We will be keeping the kids and dogs out of here for awhile..

We were very luck and only had lots of branches and cleanup to do. I am so thankful that it was only an inconvenience and that we all were safe.

Stampendous - Peony

I have to admit I have been wanting some of the new jumbo clings from Stampendous for awhile... I picked one up last week as they were on sale. :)  Lucky for me they only had the Peony at the store or I would have brought home more of them.

I used the beautiful Peony to create this card:

I was pleased with the texture and layers on my flower that came from using old pages in a book.   All the details on how to create the card are posted over at the Stampendous blog

Our Statice is just starting to bloom. I love when they are in full bloom and they dry beautifully.   CHA is coming up in another week and I am looking forward to seeing the new products and a few friends who will be in town!  (Yeah!)

Thanks for stopping by!

CR84FN33 - Week 2

This is week #2 of  CR84FN33 challenge.  It is nice to have a second week to  play with the colors as they can inspire so many different ideas.

This week I decided to create another Christmas in July card using the Chapel Road Artstamps Poinsettias.

The background of the card and the  center of the doily is a holly image from the Class Act - Holly Plate.
I stamped repeatedly the image using Memento Grey Tuxedo on the background and on the center of the doily.

The sentiment is from the same plate and is stamped using Ranger black archival ink.

The poinsettias are from the Class Act Poinsettia Plate stamped in Versafine Smokey Grey on white cardstock. I colored them using a red and pink watercolor pencils with some shading of grey.

The rest was a matter of layering and a lovely doily.

The lovely  CR84FN32 colors with inspiration photos courtesy of Martha Stewart:

Hello and Welcome to the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps 1st Anniversary Hop! I was very happy to be invited to join in the hop!

I had the sweet Bookworm Ruby and she inspired me to create a few different projects:

Isn't that sentiment sweet? Love it and she looks so sweet sitting on the pile of books. The papers are Memory Box and Lily Bee Designs - Picket Fence.  The image is colored using Copics. The fun sentiment is part of the stamp set!

My next project is a bookmark which will definitely get a lot of use by my middle daughter!

My final project is another card.

Make a Wish

This week the challenge at Lily Pad Cards is a color challenge and Kathy provided us with another beautiful selection of colors!  We also have a delightful sponsor Tickled Pink Stamps.  They provided me with the super cute image in my genie bottle... I selected Lil Pinkettes August, she reminded me of my girls and their music playing all the time.

My genie is colored using copics and highlighted with the white gel pen. There is also a little shading with watercolor pencils.

The bottle is sponged with orange dye ink and stamped with Hero Arts Lace using pink ink. I highlighted the flowers with the white gel pen.

I traded her headphones out with a fancy flower so she could fit with my bottle.  I thought she was sitting so sweetly and that she would make a great genie in a bottle. The bottle is a Silhouette shape which I cut multiple times to create the acetate center and the orange tops and bottoms.

The inside of the card says "Have a magical Day!".

Here are the inspiration colors:

All the details of the challenge are at the Lily Pad Blog

Hope

I bundled up a few challenges all in one.... I used the Simon Says Stamp and Show your Flourish, City Crafter's Challenge - Birds of a Feather, Hero Arts and Wee Memories are both Summertime challenges. Oops I forgot the colors were from the ColourQ challenge this week.

So how does that all come together in one card:

I started with a master board which was very relaxing because I pulled out the glimmer mists and chalkboard to mix up the colors from the ColourQ challenge this week. I added a layer of flourishes along with the music background. Then the edges are sponged in Vintage photo.

The sentiment is Verses Rubber Stamps  Hope Feathers QQ1007-D stamped on tracing paper. (I decided the vellum I was finding was too thick so I went into the tracing paper section and picked up a pack)
Products: Hero Arts - Tall Birdhouse, Fabulous Flourish, Music Background, Two Birds, Big Clock, Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Tuscany Sun, Chalkboard Mists, Ranger Distress Inks - Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo, Olive

The lovely ColourQ colours:

Hope you have a wonderful day!
