Hi. I hope all of you are safe and are spending this time at home creating and with loved ones. This card created this weekend was inspired by being with my family and the time we have spent together.
This card was a quick gathering of images and numbers with layering of birds and clocks. I stamped the birds and then stamped over with the number stamp.
I sponged on distress oxide inks to give the pretty colors on the birds. I accented with a white gel pen.
The clocks were stamped and cut out and layered with the birds with pop dots to add dimension.
Please keep safe.

Little Things
Hello to all. I am sending healthy thoughts to all my inky friends and hope you are all keeping safe.
Today my post is for the new Funkie Junkie Boutique challenge called "Little Things". It is hosted by the talented Jenny and here is how she describes the challenge:
I started with a mix of backgrounds and cut up white squares.
I took a few extra pieces from a background created with shaving cream and inky sprays in shades of blue. (Leftover from the last challenge).
I stamped over them with the beautiful baroque stamps in a coordinating blue. I created these Inchies from those backgrounds:
I have been wanting to ink up the new Stampers Anonymous stamps and happy that the angel could float into the inchie.
I then continued the theme with the word Blessed.
And then pulled out some snippets to add ephemera to the inchies.
After that I pulled out some butterfly die cuts and used them as a stencil and a focal point. (At which point I tipped over the 1 inch size. :)
I love how the butterfly fits over the edges.
And the other half of the stenciled butterfly.
I then created some atc backgrounds using the same shaving cream inky background. I stenciled embossing paste over the background. Waited for the paste to dry and spritzed with some inky spray.
I finished with some stamping and ephemera to create some quirky fun.
Finally a bit of the professor looking sharp... (pun intended)
I hope you enjoyed the inchie fest going on here and are inspired to join us in the challenge. Now is a good time to sequester yourself in the craft room and create.
Thanks for stopping by!

Today my post is for the new Funkie Junkie Boutique challenge called "Little Things". It is hosted by the talented Jenny and here is how she describes the challenge:
"Sometimes it can be the littlest of things that can mean the most.
For this challenge create a small vintage or shabby chic project (or if
you're feeling adventurous even a set!) It could be an Artist Trading
Card/Coin, a tag or a little card for example, or you may have something
else in mind - we can't wait to see them."
I am a big fan of small design spaces... :) I immediately thought of Inchies!

Lots of Labels
Today I am sharing a few cards created using the new Darkroom Door Lots of Labels Rubber Stamp set.
The labels are all shapes and sizes which is fun to use to layer and accent any card or project.
I stayed neutral on my colors as I just acquired the new Pebble Beach ink and wanted to play with it! I used the circle labels to frame the two images in the Harriet and Henry stamp. I stamped all the labels and then added the images inside the frames.
Next I decided to do another steampunk inspired card.
I used a few of the labels to add as accents layered over the main image. I stamped everything in black and used a distress oxide ink spray to soften the overall effect. I spritzed a black cardstock for the cardbase.
I hope you enjoyed the masculine inspiration today!

Aquamarine
Time for a new Funkie Junkie Boutique Challenge and it has us enjoying the shades of Aquamarine! The talented Cec is hosting and here is how she describes the challenge:
"Aquamarine, the birthstone of March, has a rich color and has long been a symbol of youth, health and hope. Its mesmerizing color ranges from pale to deep blue and are reminiscent of the sea." The challenge is to create a shabby chic or vintage project using the colour aquamarine in any of its shades along with one other colour (it could be white or brown or whatever you wish). The definition has lots of other prompts you could also use in your creation but the colour requirement is the main focus."
And here is the inspiration photo showing all the glorious hues of blues...
I decided to make a large sheet of mixed media paper with a blend of distress oxide ink sprays and distress stain sprays.
When you have so many beautiful shades of blue using white as your other color choice really makes everything pop!
I started by painting my large sheet of mixed media paint with a coat of gesso. I used a spatula to apply it to give it a plaster effect. Purposely leaving valleys and ridges of texture over the background. I then left that to dry.
Next I pulled out every distress oxide and distress ink I owned in blue. :)
I started with the darkest colors across the bottom and worked my way up to the lightest colors. I then used some water and started to add additional liquid and tilted and moved the paper and colors across the background. I came back in with more color where needed.
I left that dry and then picked up the extra ink on my craft mat as spots and splotches over various areas of my background.
I cut the background into different shapes and sizes. I used one of them for the base of my card and cut the flowers and butterflies from a few of the other pieces.
I tried layering the blue flowers and they blended too much with the background so I flipped them over and put them over the leafy stems. The leafy stems were made from a shaving cream mixed with distress sprays.
I hope this has you inspired to bring on the Aquamarine! The winner will earn a chance to be a Guest Designer at a future date at The Funkie Junkie Boutique blog, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the draw for the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. There are also Top 3 Badges for three additional outstanding entries, chosen by the Design Team.

Be Brave
Good Day! The new Darkroom Door Quote Stamp "Be Brave" spoke to me and I have been playing around with it creating a mix of projects.
This card was created because I wanted a pretty card that I could send to one of my girls as inspiration. I used a soft pink on the background stamp and stamped to layering panels. Then on the smaller panel I inked up the sentiment in a darker shade of pink. The bow and flowers were inked with pink to coordinate.
Then I played with a stencil and a clear embossed flower to give a soft background.
This card is all about layering the stamping in order to get the effect. :) Start with the sentiment first. Heat set the ink so it won't pick up any embossing powder when you move onto the flower. Next stamp the flowers using versamark. Sprinkle with the clear embossing powder and heat set the image. The next step is to line up the rectangle sentiment and sponge/brush on the dye ink from the right corner out. Finally I just added some water spots because I love the effect as it reminds me of a hot summer day where you can feel the haze in the air.
My next card was intended for a masculine take on a card.
This card is simple but I like that it can be sent without extra postage. :) I could also see this layered with burlap or other texture to add more depth.
Next card is again a quick card using a stencil and distress ink for the accent.
I grabbed the first distress ink on the top of the pile and sponged quickly a little background for the butterfly stencil. The gems just add a hint of texture but again fit in a standard envelope with no extra postage required. :)
Finally a canvas in a pretty mix of blues and greens. With a jumble of extra embellishments coated in gesso and spritzed with the greens and blues.
The canvas went through multiple layers of gessos and spray inks. I ended up with some stenciled polka dots with embossing paste and paint. The circles were stamped with paint over. To get a clean stamped sentiment I stamped on a spritzed vellum background and layered into the canvas.
I hope you enjoyed the mix of cards!
