This week I am sad to say is Candy Colwell's last week on the design team. I am a huge fan of her work and always look forward to what she shares on her blog. Candy you will definitely be missed!
My inspiration this week started with the Hero Arts Acetate Tags.
I wanted to create something that was translucent and airy for a wedding. I decided to start with the tag and a few other pieces:
- Emboss Acetate tag with embossing folder.
- Smear surface with white acrylic paint.
- Die cut butterfly from white cardstock.
- Cover butterfly with glue pen and sprinkle with crystal glitter.
- Die Cut Circle from white cardstock. Emboss with embossing folder.
- Layer circle on tag and attach butterfly to circle.
- Attach trim to bottom of tag.
- Attach flower to center of butterfly.
- Attach stickers to tag.
- Tie crinoline, pearls, and twine to top of tag.
To create this snowy scene:
- Emboss tag with wood grain embossing folder.
- Paint surface of wood grain with a mix of Ranger Distress Stain and paints.
- Die cut deer from Map Pattern Paper. Sponge Edges of reindeer with brown dye ink.
- Paint burlap with white paint. Let dry.
- Paint twine with gold paint.
- Punch snowflakes from white cardstock. Accent with gem and sparkle with glitter.
- Tape burlap strips to tag.
- Tie twine with buttons around burlap.
- Attach snowflakes to tag randomly with glue dots.
- Wrap scarf around the deer and pop dot and attach to tag.
- Tie burlap to top of tag with twine and gold pine cones.
- Emboss tag using snowflake embossing folder.
- Paint flowers and branches with gold paint.
- Paint backside of acetate tag with gold paint.
- Smear front of tag with a mix of bronze paint and white paint.
- Stamp script using brown ink over surface.
- Attach lace trim and flowers to front.
- Tie lace trims and twine on top of tag.
Thanks for stopping by!
