Art Creations Friday Challenge #5

This weeks Art Creations Friday Challenge: http://artcreationsfriday.blogspot.com/ was an image provided by Hermine. It was of this couple:

Here is my card:

I want to mention I had to scan this card so I apologize for the lack of color/detail.

I did a lot of layers on this. The background is embossed with 2 different colors of embossing powder and stamped with multiple roses and streaked with versamark. Sponge a tan ink on the background to provide the distressed color.

Attach the image to the distressed background. The sentiments are stamped on an alcohol ink background consisting of caramel, lettuce and currant.

Stamp on the acetate the border and the tag stamp using StazOn Ink.

I wanted to specifically mention my crochet flower that was a wonderful gift from Jacqueline. She sent me some crocheted flowers and butterflies which I have been hoarding. (they are so beautiful I have not wanted to use them)

Spotlight Technique...

I created this for a challenge using the spotlight technique. I have this beautiful nativity stamp and decided to use it in this challenge. The card itself is very simple in design and layout but I like the simplicity of the colors and highlighting the baby and the star.

For the spotlight I stamped the image on white cardstock and punched a 3/4" circle on the star and the baby. I was careful to capture the baby but to not overlap onto Mary's face.
Products:
  • Inkadinkado - Nativity Scene
  • Penny Black - Celebrate the Wonder
  • Inque Boutique - French Quarter
  • Versafine Onyx Black
  • General Kimberly Watercolor Pencils
  • 3/4" Circle Punch
  • Kraft Paper, Vellum Paper
Thanks for stopping by...
