SCRS Challenge # 22 - Color Challenge

I am happy to be playing along in the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Weekly Challenge.  This week's challenge is a color challenge!  Use the colors black, white and red.  For all the details visit the SCRS blog.

I have the super sweet Emily and wanted to show her off on something special.

This little felt stocking was only a 1.00 at the craft store and is a great way to store a few goodies to give to someone. I colored Emily using my watercolor pencils and then glittered her up using the ultra fine crystal snow glitter and the beautiful Colorsnap red glitter.

The snowflakes are some fabulous Memory Box clear design adhesives which you just rub on and then apply glitter.

The bell tag matches Emily's little bell. I already hand wrote my youngest daughter's name on this treat bag to wrap up a few goodies in.

The rest of the design team has some fabulous projects using the holiday colors:
Kim Yu
Laurel Seabrook
Lisa Hjulberg
Simonne Clay
Sparkle Smith
Stephanie Kraft

Twelve Days - Tag #6

Here is tag #6 from Tim. There are two great sources of inspiration where you can share your tags: The Artistic Stamper December Challenge and ArtyJen.

Here are my two tags from Tim's inspiration today. He had that beautiful reindeer which alas I do not. I don't have any animal shaped dies except the bird from the Sizzix bird cage die cut.

So that was I used on my first tag. I then searched around and found this owl and thought I would make him a Christmas owl. :)

My two tags... Lot's of fun creating them!   Thanks for stopping by...

A few challenges and Tag #5

Here is my Day #5 tag and the inspiration:  Tim's tag #5. I created two tags along the way and wasn't happy with either result. :(  I am only sharing one of them here.

I also created a card using Mona's color challenge CR84fn6 and the CardPatterns Sketch #93.

The sentiment is from Verses called Mother Teresa Quote and the paper is part of the Memory Box Garden Journal Collection.  The background paper is Memory Box Gossamer. The butterfly is from Hero Arts Antique Engravings Clear set.

Here is the beautiful inspiration photo:

Here is the lovely sketch:

Hope you are having a nice and relaxing Sunday!

Here Comes Santa Claus

I am happy to say that I am guest designing this month with Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. Sweet images and so fun to play with.  Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps is sponsoring a Sketches By Carly Challenge #19 this week.  Sparkle is generously donating Valentine's Oliver and Cupid Emily (new releases that I will be sharing next week and will be released on 12/11!!). Carly and her mom, Kristine, have also played along this week. To see their fabulous creations and for more details (and the sketch), please visit Carly's blog here.

I used Elf Oliver for my card. (Although I gave him a promotion and he is delivering gifts! LOL!)

He did get a little sooty being as he is new to the job. The wonderful sketch:

Oliver is colored using my trusty watercolor pencils.  The paper is from a Making Memories Valentine's Pack.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The snowflakes were such a great deal. Found them at Target in the home decor section for the holidays. They are intended to scatter on your table to decorate it for your holiday dinner or parties. I may end up doing that if they make it through the season. :)

Have a happy Saturday!

Twelve days of Tags - Day #4

Loved that Tim's tag #4 today featured patterned paper. I used to never use PP and always stamped my backgrounds but there are so many pretty papers out there and you can stamp on them too! :)

Here is my take on tag #4.  I am also going to pop this over into the Simon Says Stamp and Show your Tag challenge and The Artistic Stamper December Challenge. :)

The paper is from the Father Christmas pack of paper from Pink Paislee. The edges are sponged and images stamped using Faded Jeans Ranger Distress Inks. The Postcard and Script are Stampers Anonymous. The tiny snowflakes are from Memory Box. The sentiment is Cornish Heritage Farm.  The snowflakes on the pendant is the Hero Arts DesignBlock. Once again this was really fun to create. I won't mention that I created it twice because I wanted my image to work with the Postcard stamp. :)

Flourishes Challenge FTTC95

Back again with another post to share a cute trinket box for the Flourishes Challenge to use a doily on your project.

The box is from Hobby Lobby and Paper Mache. It was painted using the Adirondack Snow Cap Dauber. Sponge on blue dye ink over the surface to accent with blue.

Stamp Jane's Countryside from Artistic Outpost using Versafine Black Onyx on white cardstock. Color using green and blue color pencils. Curve the Paris Exposition sentiment on clear block to follow the line of the doily. Stamp using StaZon Teal.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Twelve Days of Tags - Tag # 3

Okay.. What's not to love about trees, birds and nature!  Tim's tag today has a bunch of my favorite things on it and I learned a couple different uses for the tissue tape that I had sitting in a drawer. So I am one happy camper this morning.  Here is the beautiful inspiration tag from Tim. He shows how to make a tissue tape flower too. Another great idea.  I am also going to pop this over into the Simon Says Stamp and Show your Tag challenge and The Artistic Stamper December Challenge. :)

Now here is my tag. I was cruising along following his tag and his inspiration and then I started to do my own thing. (A problem of mine...)

I didn't want to use the tissue flower on my card but definitely going to try it on another project in the future.

The background is a combinations of Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. I stamped the script from the Stampers Anonymous set in the background in Vintage Photo and Shabby Shutters. The bird is from the Sizzix Die by Tim Holtz. The tissue tape is from Ranger. The ink on there is actually Versafine Crimson Red. I tried the dye inks but they weren't giving enough color so I put the Versafine ink on and clear embossed it. I then added the Stickles Rock Candy but it didn't give enough texture so I added some crystal fine glitter and a pearl for an eye.

The other stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms, Impression Obsession and Penny Black. Loved the idea of using the splatter stamp with the Adirondack Paint Dauber. Fantastic effect.

The birds nest... Hmm.. I didn't have the moss and my birds around here are known for picking up junk from my dryer vent and using it in their nests. So I made a nest from the scraps on my desktop from cutting my trim on the bottom and the top. :) A little messy and not as fun as the moss.

Onto my second card for today.
