Simon Says Stamp and Show is  Kaleidoscope of Color and the ColourQ challenge inspired me to create a birthday card.

I started with this wonderful Memory Box paper that I love.  I haven't used it enough but I love all the happy circles in the different colors.  I toned it down with some brown distressing around the edges.  I went into my circles bin and pulled out a brown circle and cut a coordinating pp circle.  The rest was just picking a design and adding the fun Artistic Outpost Vintage Circus images in the background an as my focal point.

Mojo Monday Sketch #231

This week there are several challenges that have my mind turning... The Mojo Monday Sketch #231 along with the Ribbon Reel Challenge of Newsprint inspired me to create two card.

My first card started from newsprint pattern paper from the Bo Bunny pad of paper:

The newsprint paper led me to create a masculine card with a travel theme.  I used kraft glassine on the bottom half embossed with an embossing folder. I mixed in Artistic Outpost images from Route 66 and Diesel Punk to create my tags and banner.  I turned the layout into a pocket card with two tags.

After that I wanted to create a feminine card using the same idea of tags in a pocket:

I  also played along with the ColourQ #127 challenge this week for my colors. The velvet flower trim is a beautiful coral and came up a little dark in the photo. I used the Memory Box stamps for the background and the die is a Memory Box butterfly.  The verse is from Verses Rubber Stamps.

A few more Valentines

I combined the colors from the ColourQ and the fun Moxie Fab Challenge Around the World.

I created two different backgrounds which started from the same set of supplies: glimmer mist, acrylic paint - white, pink, sand, a plastic ring from the gallon of the milk, a paintbrush, and a cork from a wine bottle.

My first card:

 I felt like I was grade school again inking up with household objects and smearing the paint around.

Recipe:

1. Spritz glimmer mist (Red and Pink) onto craft mat.  
2. Dip plastic ring into red glimmer mist. Stamp onto white cardstock. Repeat in pink glimmer mist. Repeat until surface covered. 
3. Dip end of cork into glimmer mist and stamp into circles. 
4. Dip wood end of the paint brush into acrylic paint and roll across surface. 
5. Die cut kraft hearts. Wrap smaller heart in tissue tape. 
6. Tie twine and add hearts. 

The second card has more detail and complexity. :) 

 Recipe:

1. Roll cork through glimmer mist. 
2. Roll cork across white cardstock. Repeat across white cardstock. 
3. Distress edges with kraft colored ink. 
4. Stamp clocks randomly using light brown ink. 
5. Stamp XO using black ink. 
6. Stamp hearts using red ink. 
7. Smear white acrylic paint across the surface. 
8. Emboss Vellum using valentines embossing folder. Tear edges. 
9. Sponge edges of Tattered Angels clock frame.  Stamp clock on white cardstock and heart in the center. Add clock hand. 
10. Stamp sentiment on white cardstock. Cut banner and score and fold. 

The stamps are all Hero Arts.

Magnolia Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

Today I mixed in a couple of challenges City Crafter Challenge with a lovely sketch by the talented Linda and colors from ColourQ challenge #121. 

The stamps are all sneak peeks from the latest Stampendous release that will be in the store later this month. I colored the Magnolia with watercolor pencils and added some sponging using the Antique Linen.

A Touch of Pink

A combination of three challenges today: City Crafter a Cut Above, Mojo Monday #221 and ColourQ #117 to create my card.  I have a nasty cold and it is slowing me down this week.

I used some of my favorite Memory Box stamps to create this and pink as my pop of color for the ColourQ challenge.  (Birch Branch Print - G1720, Flower Bundle - E1321, Alpha Background E996, Happy Birthday Candle - C1373)

The background was created by stamping the alphabet multiple times using black ink and not re-inking to allow variations in the hues of the letters.  I added a layer of white acrylic paint to soften the background.  The edges were sponged with black dye ink. 

A layer of tree branches and flowers were added over the background using black ink.  

A simple card for me. :)

Spooktacular Sketch and Color Combo

Sorry about my second post of the day. :)  I wanted to share a card created for the ColourQ color challenge #106 and the Card Patterns Sketch #137.

Here is my card:

Sparkle Rubber Creations is hosting the Card Patterns challenge this week so I thought I would pull out Mummy Oliver to play along.  The sentiment and image is from Sparkle Creations. The background bats are from Artistic Outpost.

I colored Oliver and then added some sparkle to his wraps. :)

P.S.  Here is a picture of our puppy (almost three now) Emma... Very windy here today.. Blew her ear back. Just like all my girls she makes a funny face if I try to get a photo!

Tricks & Treats

Today's project start with the color palette from the ColourQ challenge #105 and the City Crafter Challenge to create something 3D.

I recently purchased at a garage sale a set of take out boxes which I thought would be great treat boxes. I started with that and created a Halloween Treat box.

This is the treat box with a candy treat wrapped in tulle in the box. 

I took a second photo to showcase the treat box without anything in it.

Recipe:

1. Trace sides of box onto white cardstock. Cut out and repeat to get all four pieces. 
2. Remove top flaps from the box. 
3. Stamp background using an Impression Obsession Cover A Card with  Adirondack Cool Peri -  and Memento Pear Tart.
4. Stamp Hero Arts tree and spider using black ink on purple background. Draw line using black gel pen. 
5. Sponge edges on all pieces using brown dye ink. 
6. Stamp Artistic Outpost bats onto green background using black ink. 
7. Trim out with brown pom poms. 
8. Stain seam binding using glimmer mists. Tie on handle. 
9. Stamp tag with Hero Arts Spider Web and Trick or Treat sentiment. Sponge edges of tag. Add ribbon. 

I also used a sketch from Our Daily Bread Scrapbooking Challenge to create a layout with the colors. 

The background was glimmer misted with a variety of the colors. Then the edges were heat embossed using golden sand - Stampendous.  The stamps are all Our Daily Bread.

The image was colored with a combination of dye inks and glimmer mists.

Yee Haw!

I love the fun colors for the ColourQ #98  and the City Crafter's Challenge Blog is to use scraps. I mixed those two challenges with the Wee Memories Masculine challenge and came up with this:

 

I pulled out some of my Hero Arts stamps to stamp the backgrounds and the fun Wild West set from Stampers Anonymous for my main image.

You Make Me Smile

This card is for my youngest as she does make me smile and the image reminds me of her.  She will be so happy as she usually looks at my cards and says pretty or cute but too vintage. LOL!  So this is a cute card more her style.  I used the fun colors from the ColourQ challenge #97 and the Hero Arts Monthly Challenge which is cards for kids.  I added a little doodling for the City Crafter Challenge Do Ya Doodle. (Very difficult to do!)

The stamps are all Hero Arts and the background uses a paint splattering which Sally shared on the HA blog.  The image is colored with watercolor pencils.  My doodling is the grass and the flowers. :)

Explore the Open Road

I combined the Mojo Monday #202 with the ColourQ #96 and some wonderful Artistic Outpost stamps and mix them all up and here is what you get!

It was really hard for me to leave all that white space. :)  

The images are all from Artistic Outpost - Route 66. I used the following inks: Memento - Pear Tart, Memento - London Fog, Ranger Archival Ink - Black, Memento - Bahama Blue.

Happy Birthday Tanya!

Today is our DD 10th birthday. She is our youngest which makes it harder to see her grow up. :)

I created a patriotic themed card for her as she is a July baby and she thinks that her cards should be red white and blue and patriotic themed.

 

The background is Hero Arts Design Block, The little girl image is from Penny Black.  Tanya selected the stamp set to create her card from. I modified the image to have her holding the star balloons. The background fireworks is from a Northwoods Sparkler stamp. The script in the background behind the fireworks is the Declaration of Independence pasted into the word processor and printed out on card stock to create a custom pattern paper. :) 

I also created a card for the Colour Q Challenge #95  this week: 

I picked up a few new Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite things and this little girl and her kites were perfect for the colors of the challenge.  The background is another Hero Arts Design Block. 

The sentiment is from Verses called Think Lovely Thoughts FS1140-D.
