Live in Bliss

I am playing with purples and oranges!  Tim's tag for November is a lovely fall inspired tag and I had fun playing with the techniques he shared.  Although my tag once again wandered far from his original inspiration.

Tim started with a paint resist using a stamp.  I used the Tim Holtz Layering stencil - stripes and painted one direction with white acrylic paint and then flipped it and painted the other direction.

His next step after the paint dried was to spritz with Ranger Distress Stain Sprays. That left me lots of choices and I decided to blend orange and purple.  I don't have my carved pumpkin/violet yet so I used the Wild Honey and Seedless Preserves.

After that dried Tim applied gold foil around the edges.  I added my gold and loved the effect so I kept going with the gold accents.

I didn't have the pumpkin which Tim cleverly debossed so I decided to pick another focal point and open my drawer of stamps and my eyes fell upon the dragonfly which is one of my favorites.  I stamped that multiple times once to emboss in Queen's Gold and the other on the tag.

Next up was to cut the word and place it along the bottom.  I varied mine to go with my tag and lacking cork board I used a piece of cardboard.  I decorated it to match the tag.

Products: Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Stripes, Sizzix - Alphabet Dies, Stampers Anonymous - Sentiments, Stampendous - Dragonfly, Seed Beeds, Tsukeniko - Delicata - Gold Glitz, Ranger Distress Stain Sprays - Seedless Preserves, Wild Honey, Seed Beeds, White Acrylic Paint

To the Moon

Happy Tuesday!  I have my take on Tim's May Tag. His tags always inspire me and a great way to kick off the month.
I dug into my ephemera drawer and found a series of ephemera from an October Afternoon set related to the moon and rockets.  I decided to use that as the base for my theme.

I pulled out my photobooth images from DarkRoom Door.  The background is made up of a piece of burlap attached to the tag.  Layered in the ephemera and then stenciled on a patch of stars.

I finished off with a smattering of rub-ons and the stamped sentiment cut up and arranged along the side.

Adore & Discover

I can't believe I have actually posted three days in a row. It feels so good to be creating every day and sharing them. :)  I am inspired today by Tim's April Tag.  Flowers are one of my favorites and his tags are just beautiful with a few cool tips and techniques as always.
Tim created two tags with different flowers from the Stampers Anonymous 2015 - Flowers so I followed along and created two myself.
I wanted to color on the kraft so I flipped my layers and put the flowers on the kraft and the white as the background of my tag.  I used my STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell watercolor pencils instead of the markers.
I also don't have the lovely die cut words to cut out on the bottom which by the way is very cool!  I am going to think about how to do that with the dies I do have on the pocket of a card/tag in the future.

Happy Saturday!  I  have a card for Easter planned for tomorrow. (Which makes me very happy to have something to share.)
