RAKS with Strawberries

I wanted to share some special things we (me and my youngest Tanya) received in the mail from the wonderful Heather.   I had seen the cutest little knitted hat on her blog. (She is very talented not only in card making but also in stitching and knitting) I had mentioned that my youngest would love a hat like that. Heather offered to create one.

This is a picture of Tanya wearing her wonderful strawberry hat and a second little hat doll sized.  Tanya ran upstairs to get her doll and put her hat on to model for the picture.

She also included this hat which Tanya loved too..

In addition she sent the cutest card for Tanya with a little girl with knitting needles. I can't share a picture because it was addressed to Tanya and she took it up to her room and didn't want to share as it was her card. :)  But if you go to Heather's blog you can see it here.

I too received some goodies including this gorgeous card! This picture doesn't nearly reflect how beautiful the card is!

Thank you Heather!!!

Tag Tuesday Challenge # 55 - My Favorite Things

Louise's challenge for  this week is to use your favorite things on your tag.  Here's my tag:

I had too many favorites to fit on one tag so I focused on a few of them:

  • Lace (Love the look and feel of the lace)
  • Techniques. Love playing with techniques and had a good friend over and we played with shaving cream and the backgrounds on this tag were created using the shaving cream techniques.
  • Twine (This keeps sneaking onto my cards and tags)
  • Birds or Butterflies - Since I started with the sentiment on this card first I went the bird route. :)
  • Distressing - Love distressing!
  • Memento Rich Cocoa and/or Versafine Vintage Sepia
  • Embellishments - definitely hooked on pearls, buttons, gems...
  • Text - Love the look of the text on the backgrounds.
This was a fun challenge and I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorites.

Now to share something else beautiful...  Lynn sent me this as a RAK and I was thrilled to receive it!

I feel so lucky because she creates such beautiful projects and now I have one for my collection!   Thanks Lynn!

What a lovely mail day!

Around my house there are a few of us, myself included who love to get the mail. Well yesterday I had to run out to the grocery store at the end of the day and the mail never showed up before I had to leave.

When I get home we unload groceries and my two oldest decide to go out and enjoy the snow with our puppy. My husband said "I can't believe you didn't get the mail today". "Of all days you should have gotten the mail" Now my ears perk up and I am wondering what is going on. Turns out I received 4 packages and my kids had hidden them. So now I had to wait until they came in to try to find them.

You get to share in the beautiful cards I received yesterday...

First up I am participating in Deborah's Card Share which she hosts once a month. (You need to stop over at her blog because she is tremendously funny and really talented! She is always hosting fun events) I was lucky enough to have Marilyn V get my name... Take a look at the beautiful cards she sent me...
First there is this adorable frog wth shamrock background paper. It is so cute and adorable.

And that wasn't even the card... This was her card... I had to take the picture on an angle so you could see inside to see that she put coordinating paper and doily edge on the indside too! This is so beautiful! (She also sent me some goodies inside the package too!)

Then on top of that package... I received a package from Kiara which was totally unexpected. Look at this gorgeous card!

She too included a RAK for me! Thanks Kiara!

If that wasn't enough Alice sent me a package too and these beautiful cards were in there. This card is so delicious in it springy colors. I love these bright colors the owls are adorable and the coloring fantastic.

When Alice offered to send me a card I asked if she would mind sending me one of her little elf cards she colored around Christmas. I was so lucky she had one left that she could share with me. I think this is the cutest card and loved that I got to see the coloring up close and in real life!

Now how about that... It was like having my half birthday! What a great day of surprises. And my fourth package was a new release from Memory Box that I didn't even know was on it's way to me and the stamps are lovely! I have all these new stamps now and no time to play just yet.

Thanks for stopping by... I hope you enjoyed my mail as much as I did in receiving it.

A few more Christmas Cards to share

I received a couple more Christmas cards from my stamping friends...

The first is from Nancy not only is she inspirational in her card making but she is also inspirational in her faith. She sent me this beautiful card:
What is so lovely is she used a muted ink on the background and stamped several images and the colors are so soft and lovely.
The second card is from my friend Lyn... Her daughter Lisa is my best stamping buddy. They both have taught me so much about stamping and techniques. She lives in sunny Florida!
Love the flamingo for a Christmas card.
The last is something I created inspired by these cute pillows from Pottery Barn. Here is my card based on the inspiration picture:
Joy to you and your family this holiday and for all of next year!
Merry Christmas!

RAKS...

I love getting mail... Something we fight over in our house is who gets to check the mailbox and see what fun things are there. I was so happy because this past week I received two
envelopes of goodness from my card-making friends.
Kiara sent me this beautiful card.

What I couldn't capture in the picture is the shimmer she put on each circle and the flowers. So happy to have a card created by Kiara. She makes the most lovely and elegant cards you can imagine. She also was kind enough to send me a gift as well. Thank you Kiara!

As if that wasn't enough I recieved a second envelope, yesterday from Jacqueline. Jacqueline makes such dreamy, beautiful cards, tags, and ATC's. She sent me this little gem and it even has a little hoop so I can hang it up. Which I am definitely going to do as I can than have the inspiration here in my crafting space.

I love the inspiration of the grid cards that Jacqueline creates and this is such a beautiful example of one. She has taught me how to use my scraps in creating additional cards. Thank you Jacqueline!

I thought I would share my birthday cards and how happy I am to have such wonderful friends.

Have a wonderful day!

RAK - From Ethel

I was so excited on Tuesday... I love getting packages in the mail and there was one waiting for me. The package was from Ethel at http://thepaperquilter.blogspot.com/. She had offered on her site blog candy celebrating her DH & DS birthdays. I put a comment in because my birthday happened to be very close to thiers... She randomly selected my comments. Whoo Hoo! The package contained these great stamps:

Not only did she send me the stamps but I was lucky enough to get this card in the package as well. (The little girl on the broom). http://thepaperquilter.blogspot.com/2008/10/few-vintage-halloween-cards.html (I took a picture of it but it wasn't very good and Ethel had posted a much better picture)

I was more excited opening up the card than I was opening up the stamps. If you go look at Ethel's blog you will see why. She is always creating beautiful things.

Thanks Ethel for the beautiful card and the fun stamp set.. Now I will have to work on making something special with these funny stamps.

Thanks for stopping by...
FYI... I am on vacation and writing from muggy and warm Orlando as I type... So it will be a slow week for me.. I was able to create a few more things for Stamptoberfest before I left home (Right up to the car picking us up) hee hee... So I have a few more things to share but won' t be home to my craft supplies until next week. :(

Thanks for stopping by...
