Two similar but different cards....

Have you ever had a card you wouldn't give up on? Well.... my first card I am sharing I made 4 variations of it. :( I spent way too much time on that first card. I ended up using some of the same elements and made my second card.
I am curious if anyone else out there does the same thing... Usually I will keep the elements if it isn't coming together and put them in a scrap pile of pieces I like that I want to go back to someday...

Tell me if you like card # 1:

or card # 2... :)

The recipes are very simple and I won't go into the details. The corner circle was cut using a fiskars circle templates. They come in a set with multiple circles and I used the circle cutter.

  1. I like the pink and tan/brown together. Both are nice. I know what you mean about making elements that don't work together. Mine also go in a pile. But that pile keeps growing...and toppling over... until I often throw things out.

  2. They're both lovely. I like the off centre scalloped circle on the first card, but LOVE the second card...so clean, crisp...so professional!

  3. I am not going to be much help!

I see two very different and beautiful cards!!! The first one is a great chick card.. love the pink...and all the bottom row of pearls and change in scallop colors!

The second one is very elegant and actually, would be appropriate for various occasions: wedding (if 2 birds were in the tree), sympathy, and even a 'missing you'... The single bird just makes me think the focus on one person...

Sorry! Like I said.. not much help.

  5. I do have a preference! I LOVE the first card - very unique, playful with the lace and the colouring with the heavy distressing is great! The second card is nice too but doesn't wow me like the first one!
I think the first card is more you and your creativity and the second more adapted to a simplier design...
I say this in all humbleness, just giving my honest feelings as I see the cards.

  6. I love both of them and find them to be very wonderfully different. Gotta love those pearls, and the lace and the scallops! Did you know you have a ton of empty space at the end of this post? Maybe it should be there.
