Red Ink on Kraft

I saw some lovely paper at the store which had red damask against a kraft paper. I wanted to see if I could re-create the effect. This is what I came up with..

I couldn't get the same color of red on the kraft. I tried several distress inks and ended up using the fired brick.

The background image is the elegant brocade stamp from Hero Arts. The sentiment is from Verses (Grow Old) and the flowers are Prima. I used the friends cling stamp from hero arts on kraft cardstock. I heat embossed with white embossing powder and punched leaves to accent the flowers.

I hope you are having a fabulous Monday.

  12. Wow wow wow! This is a really elegant and opulent look with the flourish stamp in red on kraft. The flowers and the way you grouped them is gorgeous.

You sound like me. I can't concieve of spending $1.50 on a piece of fancy paper but I will go home and spend two hours trying to re-create it :-)

  14. This is just beautiful, Sue. I really love the quote stamp - where did you get this one - I can do a search for "Verses + Rubber stamps"? I'm thrilled that you're taking part in the CCC again AND that I'm on the receiving end of your beautiful art!
