Christmas in June

I thought I would share one of the cards that I created last weekend that wasn't accepted for publication.

This was created from a scrap I have had in my scrap pile for a long time.  The background was created using distress inks mixed up with water on my craft mat. I inked up the Holly and Flourish (Hero Arts) stamp directly in the inky water and stamped it on white cardstock.  The fun part of this technique is as it dries the image usually looks better than when you stamped it.

I paired the background with  beautiful trim that I found at the Antique Mall. Love browsing around there looking at odds and ends.

The bird is from Impression Obsession and is supposed to be holding a candy cane. (I have used it many times now and glad that I cut away the candy cane. :)   The branches are from a Christmas Die Cut from Sizzix.

The lovely sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps and it is called Hope Feathers (QQ1007-D).

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

  6. Wow Suzz, I go away for 5 days and when I come back you've shared loads of beauty! Thanks for the how to on that background. It's really lovely and I especially like that branch die.

The fabric tag on the previous post is absolutely beautiful and so is the one before that. That green trim is stunning.
