2S4Y Roses and Butterflies

I created two cards for the 2 Sketches for You challenge Laura's Sketch #62. Way on either end of my design style.

Here is the second one I created:

Love that Webster's Pages paper. So much of the background was already there. I added the Hero Arts Rose and the Verses Sentiment.  The butterfly is also Hero Arts. Stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia and colored with my trusty watercolors.

I started with this card which is for a class I will be teaching in November for Masculine cards. I was  inspired by Lisa's card here.  The image is from Artistic Outpost, called The Outpost, love this set.

Here's Laura's lovely sketch:

For some reason blogger is turning it on itside and I can't figure out why. :)  But I want to get this in before the challenge ends.

Thanks for stopping by... Off to make a card for my dad's birthday!

  1. LOVE your butterfly/verse card - wonderful use of the sketch and that pretty Webster's pages paper! The Outpost card looks fab, the cut out windmill looks great added to your focal image.

  11. Hi Sue, I was thinking of you when I was in the U.S. Wanted to send you a card but it was all too complicated with the check-in desk being so far from the hotel and the busy-ness of the whole affair! I LOVE your top card, just the style I love and know is very dear to your heart too!!
Thanks for sharing your inspiration with us!!

  12. I love both these cards Sue even though their styles are completely different. The first one is so pretty and I love the way you have used the ribbon with that pretty frame.

The second one has such wonderful autumnal colours (er, should I say 'fall', Lol!). As usual, I wish I were attending your class!
