I am still playing with the colors and birds challenge from Embellish Challenge. I was admiring the beautiful cards and tags on Jacqueline's blog and tried to capture her beautiful style in my cards.
I first created this card:
and then I shared this card with a friend. She mentioned that my words on my backgrounds and the eggs were going the wrong direction. So I redid my card and rotated the background papers.
So which design do you like? I ended up liking my first project better even with the words/script going the wrong direction. :)
I love this paper from 7 Gypsies called Conservatory and used it for the background on the cards. The bird is from Impression Obsession called Chickadee on a Candy Cane. The sentiment is from Verses QQ-1007D Hope Feathers. The background is also from Impression Obsession and is Nest Definition stamp. The birdcage is from Hero Arts.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

These are totally inspiring Sue - such beautiful art! I have those papers but haven't been really inspired yet - so this is a great help!! Gorgeous cards!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and papers, they are gorgeous. The little bird is really cute. I would have loved card number one, but I prefer the direction of the eggs in card number two- you did ask! Judith xx
ReplyDelete... and I love number one just like you do!
ReplyDeleteWowwwww BEAUTIFUL work!!!
ReplyDeleteLove them both!! :)

They are both beautiful cards. Love the first one more ... if I have to choose. I don't really care about the direction of the words lol!
ReplyDeleteCute birdie-cards! The first one is adorable ;)
ReplyDeleteThese are both lovely, Sue! I especially love the lace crown on the first one!
ReplyDeleteI love them both too.I think I like the direction of the second one, maybe with the branch stamped on it as well....But still bvothe lovely.

Wow wow wow.. I am just amazed when I stop to visit Suzz... Such creativity!!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, how funny -- before I scrolled down to the second card I was admiring how you had added the egg paper at an unusual angle..and thought it looked so creative!
ReplyDeleteWell, both cards are so beautifully done, Suzz! But the first one is my favorite, too.
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with you. They are both beautiful but I like the first one better. Beautiful soft muted colors. Very pretty design too. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteboth cards are gorgeous, Sue! beautiful works of art! your attention to detail always awes me. love them!
ReplyDeletetotally amazing. My fav is the first one... but both are just incredible. Love the lacy crown.
ReplyDeleteWonderful collage Sue! Love the birdie gently sitting in her nest!
ReplyDeleteI love these cards with birds, cages!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I prefer the first, but both are cute!!!
Hugs!
Sue, these are both gorgeous but if I had to pick only one, I'd go for the first one too. I don't think it matters which way the paper sits, in fact if I'm thinking of eggs in a nest they are more likely to lie the way they are in the first card. I love the beautiful nest of ribbons and flowers and the lace crown is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI like them both too Sue but the first one pleases my eye slightly better. I think it's the general layout and nothing to do with the direction of the script or the eggs.
ReplyDeleteThe little bird looks very at home on her pretty nest and I love the little touches of blue here and there. Beautiful cards both!
Hugs

so beautifull
ReplyDelete!
I really like the first one best, beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteTotally stunning cards, Sue! Love the beautiful bird nest, the colors and the design! You are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards but i like the first one even if the eggs are going the wrong way when someone receives a card i hardly think they scrutinize it just happy to have received one

The first is my favorite. There's no such thing as wrong when it comes to creating. Thanks so much for joining Embellish!
ReplyDeleteThese two cards are wonderful... but my favorite is the second one :D and I can tell you why. The First thing I see is the lace, then the sentiment and then, the beautiful bird. Is like if the lace is showing me where to direct my attention :) Good composition! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with us!
