Instead I asked everyone to be inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I started from this quote of a conversation between the Mad Hatter and Alice: The Mad Hatter asks Alice: "Have I gone Mad?" and Alice replies "I am afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are."
The challenge is to take any idea or concept from this wonderful tale to inspire your project. There are so many wonderful bits or pieces to be inspired by like the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, the looking glass, tea party or Alice herself. The possibilities are endless. Anything can be your inspiration but make sure you reference what inspired your art from the story!
I wanted a looking glass effect so I used some metallic cardstock and stamped an image from Artistic Outpost.
This was a fun project with bits and pieces that I have been keeping for awhile.
The winner will earn the chance of a Guest Designer spot here at Frilly and Funkie, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the draw for the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. Suzz, this box is so delightful! I love how you've used the Baseboard Doll as Alice and that wonderful looking glass on the front. The mushrooms are something I wanted to use sooo badly, but I just couldn't make it work. (I've had that die set for ages and have not used it!) I love how you've embossed the lid to look like real wood--amazing! Great thought-provoking challenge, and you've inspired us with a fabulous project! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to love here! First of all, that baseboard doll is the perfect Alice! Then those pink mushrooms are just too much fun for words. The rabbit stamped on the metallic sheet is sheer genius. And I love the door you added to the vignette box. Of course the white rabbit clock is just the perfect embellishment. And you even included a bitty key and spilled bottle of potion. It's magical, Suzz!
ReplyDeleteOh WOW Suzz! This vignette box really encapsulates the whole Alice story all in one adorable project! I love the clock with the White Rabbit charm, the little key in Alice's hand and those fantastic mushrooms. It's amazing! xx
ReplyDeleteWOW!! That is so awesome, I love it! Your details are amazing.
