Hi! I am back with a new challenge that I am hosting on the Funkie Junkie Boutique! I titled it Icy and Cold because that is how our weather is right now! I described the challenge as:
"For this challenge I wanted to reflect how the weather is in January in my part of the world. Highlight anything that speaks icy and/or cold to you which could include: snowflakes, icy tones of colors, icicles or winter activities. Come share what icy and cold inspires in your art!"
I wanted to stay monochromatic and started playing with some purples and blues. I ended up going silvery, grey and white. When we get to our icy cold weather it is very grey and white outside.
The background is a softly stenciled text with a gray distress oxide ink. I sponged the edges and heat embossed a touch of silver.
Next was die cutting a mix of flowers and branches. I sponged them with black soot and heat embossed with a clear frosty embossing powder.
I took glass beads and embossed them with a silver embossing powder.
I then sponged the flowers with hickory smoke and clear embossed them with a frosted embossing powder.
I layered all the flowers and branches on the front with touches of the silver beads. I found the Joy stamp and used the same embossing powder and cut it out to place it on the front of the card.
Please come share your icy and cold inspiration.
Brrrr! Makes me shiver just to look at this frosty card, Suzz! I love how you've made everything appear encased in ice. That was us last Saturday, and this Saturday we're scheduled to get some snowflakes! Yay! Followed closely by 70 degree weather later in the week. (Thank God, because we are getting our windows replaced.)
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I love these icy cold flowers. Such a beautiful die set.
