Immediately I was inspired by the colors and the textures and even the blocking. So here is my take on the card.
I shared my card with my kids and asked them what they thought. There were general thumbs down across the board. This included the 5-9 population, 10-13 population and the 13 to 15 population. LOL! They did say it looked like the inspiration photo after I shared it with them. The other issue they had, was it was too simple. (They know their mom's detail filled style) So I added the sparklies to represent the handles on the doors. :)
I will say that making the pieces was just a pleasure. I was embossing, creating faux metal, and distressing and using lots of fun colors! I even have some other pieces that didn't make it onto the card which inspired new ideas and techniques.
I hope your Friday is going to be fabulous, leading into a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteHey Suzanne! What a beautiful approach to this week's Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World! Thanks so much for playing along! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your Moxie Fab shout out, funny that the kids gave it a thumbs down, but you won in the end!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great card. That sentiment was tailor-made for it. Congrats on being a Trigger Target!
ReplyDeleteThis card is FABULOUS!! Don't let the thumbs down from the kids get to you - mine do it to me all the time! Once when I made a big framed piece that I was particularly proud of I showed it to my 13 year old and he said, "I like the frame" - the frame was the one thing that I hadn't touched! hee hee - good thing we have a big community of crafters that appreciate art when we see it - Your card is art!
ReplyDeleteI think your card is full of things to look at - not plain at all. I love that you can get honest feedback from the kids - that's the best kind. they don't have to love everything you do and they seem to be aware of what your "usual" style is. Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your Trigger Target. This is a very beautiful card. Well deserved.
