Waiting for Santa

Happy Friday!  The weather changed here to get a little cooler and more fall like.  I like the crisp air in the morning.  I pulled out a vintage image from Stampendous this morning and stamped it on some neutral papers and that started my inspiration going.  The design is using the guiding principle of  movement from  the Moxie Fab World Design Handbook Challenge for Movement

I started with Halloween paper (wouldn't have guessed that would you?)  and stamped the postcard and key onto the background using black ink. To make the image pop, I added shadowing and color using watercolor pencils and a brush.  I added highlights with the white gel pen.

I positioned  the frame overlapping onto the original postcard. I masked the postcard image and stamped the Hero Arts frame using black ink.  I added shading and a touch of highlight to the frame. I took the top off my large embossing jar and turned it in circles on my ink pad to ink it up and then stamped it onto the paper in the corner.  To finish off moving the eye across the paper I scattered snowflakes from left to right. I added the little girl to the corner.  I wanted her to look like she is patiently waiting for Santa but she fell asleep before she could catch him. :)

  2. This is stunning Sue and the effect you have achieved is amazing. I love the white highlights and the bit that keeps drawing my eye back is the circle. There are some very pretty images on this piece and I love it.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog today. You were very quick, lol! I've had very little crafting and blogging time recently but had an unexpected portion of 'free' time today so decided to have a lovely few hours catching up with my blogging buddies. I saved the best till last, lol, and I am now going to work my way backwards through the posts I've missed on your blog. I always know I'm in for lots of lovely surprises when I catching up on your designs.

  4. Suzz... there surely is movement in the card, Each element draws the eye and leads onto another. The colours are awesome and I love how you have incorporated so many lovely stamps. A big thanks also for taking time in your busy life to visit and leave me comments on my blog. Very much appreciated.
