Kwerner Color Challenge # 51

Here is Kristina's color challenge # 51 too late to submit. :)

The colors were brown, rose, mustard, and white. I found this shape from a set of journaling pieces and traced it onto cardstock and created the mask and frame.

I masked and stamped the brown houndstooth and clear embossed it. I sponged the pink on using a mask.

I then stamped the brown flowers and colored them in using my colored pencils and watercolor pencils.

Add a few accents.. and done..

Products:

  • Penny Black - Poppies
  • Hero Arts - Houndstooth
  • Versafine - Vintage Sepia
  • Memento - Rose Bud
  • Prismacolor
  • General Kimberly Watercolor Pencils
  • Clear Embossing Powder
  • Hero Arts - Clear Design

Happy Mother's Day!

Kwerner Challenge #50

I made 3 cards using Kristina's 50th color challenge http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=1333 and can only submit one link so I decided on this one:
The colors were brown, red, yellow, turqouise, and white... Here is the card I am linking to her challenge.

The vines are stamped with yellow first and overlaid with a brown to give a shadow effect.
I cut several of the vines and used them for the stems of the flowers.

  • Hero Arts - Old French Writing
  • Hero Arts - Designblock Floating Leaf Pattern
  • Memento - Rich Cocoa, Dandelion
  • StazOn - Teal Blue

Happy Easter and a little Spring!

Time for another of Kristina Werner's color challenge... http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=1274 which encompasses these colors:

Love the bright colors on these. I am truly inspired by colors in addition to new stamps. :)

There are these lovely birds from Inkadinkado which are so much fun because of the circles and swirls built into them.

I decided to ink up a bird and use it as my focal point for these colors. I really feel the bird reminds me of a robin because of her bright red chest.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! Spring is a time to renew and rejoice!

Happy Easter!

Kwerner Challenge # 47

Kristina's Color Challenge this week: http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=1122 contains colors I used earlier this week to make several cards. I actually felt like I was stuck in a rut using the orange, brown, yellow and white. :) So when I saw her colors it gave me a chuckle..

I went a different path with this card and tried to incorporate more white, different shape and look and feel from my earlier cards.

I am addicted to my new Cornish Heritage Farms stamp (lined paper). I also just purchased a grid paper stamp of theirs which I have been playing with as well and I love for a background effect.

Products:

  • Cornish Heritage Farms - Lined Paper
  • Hero Arts - Heart Winged Butterfly
  • Stampabilities - Tapestry Pattern
  • Hero Arts - Happy Birthday To You
  • Memories - Honey
  • Martha Stewart - Cornice Edger Punch
  • Gems, Ribbon, Buttons - Unknown
  • Versafine - Vintage Sepia
  • Prisma Color Pencils

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and I hope it brings you and your loved ones a blessed year!

Yesterday I worked on Kristina's Color Challenge... http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/2008/12/color-inspiration-36.html

Here are the colors:

I loved this color combination. I immediately die cut some hearts in red and green thinking I would emboss them. I ended up using the cut out as a mask instead. Here is my main heart.

I stamped the pretty floral/flourish stamp on white cardstock and embossed using light pink embossign powder. I then took the cardstock where I had cut out the hearts and used that as a mask and sponged on the red ink to make my hearts.

I purchased these charms with sentiments. I thought this was an appropriate sentiment.
Products:
  • Paper Inspirations - Floral Flourish
  • Creative Beginnings - Pastel Pink Embossing Powder
  • Martha Stewart - Doily Lace Border Punch
  • EK Success - Red Adornments
  • Sizzix Heart Die Cuts
  • Ranger Distress Inks - Fire Brick
  • Plaid Enterprised - Fresh Metal Charms - Love

KWerner Color Challenge # 32

Kristina's colors this week are inspired from a christmas picture in a catalogue. The link to her challenge: http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/2008/11/color-inspiration-32.html

The colors are:

She did allow for the Sahara Sand to be substituted with a metallic color.

This is similar to another card I made a long time ago. The stamps on this is the Hero Arts 12" clear stamp. When I first saw the stamp I knew I wanted to make a wreath from the berries and branches stamp.

Products:

  • Versamark Watermark Ink
  • Memento - Rhubarb Stalk (I love that name)
  • Hero Arts - Branch & Leaf Long Borders
  • Judikins Copper Embossing Powder
  • Ribbon FX - Hobby Lobby
  • K&CO Gems
  • Penny Black - Joy, Hope...
  • Bazzil Christmas Paper

The best part about making the challenge cards, is I keep adding to my pile to send out for our Christmas cards. Everyone is going to get a unique card this year if I keep this up!
