It's April! Time for a new Tim tag!
Tim showcased some pretty lattice on his tag cut form chipboard. I have a lattice die but it was very small. I decided instead to use a stencil to get the lattice effect.
I started with a cool envelope that is slightly larger than a tag.
I applied tissue tape randomly across the body of the envelope. I added a layer of distress stain, distress ink and some water spots.
I then used the stencil with embossing paste onto the envelope. I added some stamping and color to the honeycomb pattern.
I had extra room in my tag envelope and decided to use the beautiful dragonfly and decoupage it onto the envelope.
I made my flowers but I am really bad at it. I made 4 of them thinking I would get better but actually I got worse as I went along. :) I smashed them on my envelope so I think they look okay in my picture but now I know why I use pre-made flowers. :)
Have a happy Thursday!

Stunning tag Suzz, love the tape and texture in the backdrop. The focal image is gorgeous as us your use of colour. Stunning flowers too. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!
ReplyDeleteTotally love your April tag Suz, wow, that dragonfly looks so amazing and I actually really like your flowers, they have a style all their own and I for one think they looks great!
ReplyDeleteEvery so often, I feel the need to let you know I look at every post you make, even if I don't comment. This is a fabulous creation! Wonderful layers of color and texture...and that dragonfly is wowza! As for your flowers, I think they look perfect for this creation. (I can never get flowers to look like other people can do....I buy a lot of Prima blossoms)
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic, actually prettier than the original from Tim... Yours has a more feminine quality to it. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAs usual a perfect take on Tim's tag for April. Your work always enthrals me.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beauty. Love it Anneke.
ReplyDeleteI love how brutally honest you were in saying you hate your flowers and you ended up smashing them. I generally think the same thing about mine and just smoosh them too! I can never make mine look even slightly realistic! Love your final product. Smashed flowers and all!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely GORGEOUS, Suzanne! I love, love love the dragonfly! There are so many gorgeous textures! Wow!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tag. Karen.x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag. Just love the stencil and glossy effects.
ReplyDeleteP's I just realized the "glossy" effect is a illusion created by the white you used and the brightness of my tablet :) Still I love how you have highlighted the tag with the small white strokes.
