An Open Book

Is anyone or anything really an open book?  I decided to add a zipper into my book with the hidden message that not everyone would see unless they looked for the zipper to open up and delve into the details.   The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is an "x,y,z" challenge and asks you to be inspired by any of these letters.  Obviously the "Z" caught my attention and inspired me to pull out a zipper.

Here is my book with the zipper built into it.

I started with a zipper that already was shorter in length and fit the book page size.  I measured how long it was and started cutting a slit using my exacto knife down the front.
I repeated it until I had worked my way through many, many many pages.  :)  I am a book lover but don't worry I used an old cook book which already was damaged and not usable.

After I had my pages cut I then laid down the stencils both on the front pages and the inside pages.  I used my embossing paste to hold up my top pages from the bottom while they dried.

After everything dried I went at the pages with yellow, orange and abandoned coral sprays. I did this multiple times and on my folded pages many different angles to get color in the folded pages.
I then stamped the words on tissue paper and decopuaged them into the page.

I sprayed multiple other scraps of white cardstock to cut out my flowers and butterflies.

I played around with the Tattered Florals die cuts and spritzed and scrunched them to form my flowers.
