Gently Lovingly...

Welcome back.  Today I am sharing a series of sympathy cards. They are all based on the same idea and will help me build up a small supply of these type of cards. I am always thankful when I don't have a need for sympathy cards.  Unfortunately a friend of mine has lost someone in her family and I wanted to send her a little note to show we were thinking of her and her family.

I started with two of my favorite stamps that I have had for awhile.  The sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps and I think a beautiful way to send caring thoughts.
The Pussy Willows stamp is a very old one from Serendipity Stamps.  I wanted to stamp the pussy willows slightly overlapping the sentiment.  I used micro-glaze on the image and sentiment before I added color to see if I could keep my buds white.  I sprayed the mist on my craft mat and laid my stamped image and sentiment in the ink.  I then sprinkled in white paint and a few flicks of the spray over the surface.  I then came back in and added highlights with my gel pen.

For this card I stamped and added the glaze on the buds. I then just sprayed directly in the middle of the pussy willows with my distress stain spray. I dabbed off the excess with paper towels.  I then flicked white paint and blue spray over the surface.

For my final version, I followed the same process as above but sprayed at an angle which covered more of the surface with a softer blue background. I highlighted again with the white gel pen to pop the areas I wanted highlighted.

I am added this to the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge of Stamping & Smooshing.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Stripes

I had to squeak in an entry at the Simon Says Stamp and Show some Stripes and at the same time the Moxie Fab World Textured to Perfection.  I had my supplies from my last card sitting out still so the color tones are the same only I added a hint of green.

I started with the Hero Arts lined paper stamp in the background and added my favorite Pussy Willows from Serendipity Stamps and then a few Impression Obsession Butterflies. Finish it off with a Hero Arts Stamp. The damask in the background is from Memory Box.

A mix of some of my favorite images. :)

Hope your Saturday is lovely. We are going to have some pretty fall weather today. I am going to go out and prune back my roses. I hate to do it as they still have lovely flowers but next week we are dropping into the lower temps.

Our Christmas Card

This is our family Christmas card or at least half of them. I usually like to have 2 different cards to send out to our family and friends. This is one of them.
I had this idea to use this stamp and color it and then take it to our local copy store and replicate it to save some time.
The stamp is from Serendipity Stamps. I used my copics to color the main images and sponged the edges with Memento Soft Plum.
Products:
  • Serendipty Stamps
  • Memento Soft Plum
  • Copics
  • Ranger Stickles - Crystals
  • Nestabilities - Labels
  • Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Snowflakes
Going to be a little slow on the creativity this week as I am working in another town in all day meetings which means long commute times. :(
Thanks for stopping by..
