Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week the challenge is glossy! From glossy accents to clear embossing powder, gloss cardstock to shiny
domed embellishments there is a lot of gloss power around. This
week we encourage you to find some glossy product and let it inspire
your creation.
The glossy thoughts had me thinking of gilded angel wings and what better way to dip them in gold than to use the glossy accents and some beautiful halo gold glitter from Stampendous.
The wings were my first steps and to create them I had a several step process:
The glossy thoughts had me thinking of gilded angel wings and what better way to dip them in gold than to use the glossy accents and some beautiful halo gold glitter from Stampendous.
The wings were my first steps and to create them I had a several step process:
1. I cut a lot of feathers from vellum. I layered the vellum in two sheets and cut bunches of feathers in varying sizes.
2. Then I poured the glitter into the top of the glitter.
3. I coated the tips with glossy accents.
4. Dipped them into the glitter.
5. Set them aside and repeated the process. :)
Here is what my desktop looked like:
I put them on a sheet of acetate in case there was any extra glossy accents and I needed to pull them up after they dried.
Next I tried to find just the right piece to put together with my wings.
The old doorplate was in my stash and I was thrilled he fit on the opening for the door handle. The diamond buttons fit perfectly in the openings for the screws. I brushed them and the old door plate with touches of the same gold shimmery ink.
My last touch was to add a few accents to the bottom covered in the gold ink and dangled form a chain from my bottom decoration.
Products: Ranger glossy accents, Taylored Expression feather dies (I used another set of dies Memory Box but the store is out of them and these will work as they have varying sizes as well), Tsukineko Gold Gliz Ink, Vellum, Idea-Ology - Swivel Clasp Hardware, Idea-Ology Tim Holtz Tiny Vials Corked, Stampendous Halo Gold Glitter, Idea-Ology - Lace Chain , Idea-Ology - Tim Holtz Fanciful Buttons, Cross, Idea-Ology Word Keys
