Tropical Adventure

With the Summer getting kicked off I thought it would be fun to share a mini-vacation with a variety of image from the new Darkroom Door release.

I wanted the most vibrant colors behind the palm trees that I could get and I achieved it by stamping the image on vellum and heat embossing it with black embossing powder.  I then flipped it over and sponged on the dye ink over the back of the image.  Then I put a piece of white cardstock behind the vellum image and mounted it on an acetate card.  I sprinkled on a splattering of white paint to give the final effect.

I love lighthouses and the  Darkroom Door Lighthouse is the perfect size for a card and a lovely image to allow a variety of ways to use it.  I shared this one before but wanted to just include it on our get-away to the shore.  This was stamped, masked and then the stencil laid down to sponge in the rays of the sun.

The Sail Boat is a lovely serene image.  I can think of gliding along enjoying the beautiful breeze on the water. Of course I tend to get sea sick if I do anything but glide. :)

Thanks for stopping by for a min-vacation. :)
