Boy Oh Boy!

Happy Wednesday!   It's time for the Funkie side of the Frilly & Funkie Design Team to share their art for Jenny's  'Boy oh Boy!' challenge.  For this one we need you to create a vintage or shabby chic project with a man or boy in mind.

The Design Team will choose their top four picks with the winner being invited to join us in a Guest DT spot at Frilly and Funkie and the next three will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I have in hand new Stampers Anonymous stamps, stencils and embossing folders. I had fun playing with all the new products!
It all started with this Eiffel Tower that I had created previously and never used.  I decided to build a card with layers featuring masculine colors to showcase the textured tower.

The background is one of the new Stampers Anonymous stamp stamped in gray ink. I then stenciled over it with a brown dye ink.

I embossed the argyle imprint on foil. I highlighted it with gold and black paints.

I took the globe and cut it out from leftover atlas pages and then sponged black ink to make it pop in the background. I took a leftover fleur de lis charm and added a little ball chain to it for an accent.

I can't wait to keep playing with the new stamps!  Don't forget to pop over to the Frilly and Funkie blog to see everyone's beautiful creations!  Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired By

This week at Simon Says Stamp and Show we are being inspired.  You choose what inspires you, it can be a song lyric or a quote from your favorite author, or an idea from your favorite blogger or your favorite artist.  I was  inspired by the fantastic  Hot Air Balloon created by Candy from a previous challenge.

I had sitting out plastic Easter eggs left over from our Easter decorations.  I decided to use the idea of covering my egg with the embossed metallic sheets.

I cut the embossed sheets into pieces which I layered over the egg.

I had my DH drill hole in the top and bottom of the egg. And I added a handle to the top and the bottom had a leftover handle found at the flea market.

I decided to create a coordinating butterfly.  I cut the butterfly from a die cut and embossed the surface with the embossing folder.

I decided to antique my metal with a coat of versamark and Stampendous Aqua Embossing Enamel. I then smeared the surface with StaZon Black ink.

I added changes, charms, and pearls draped around the top.  I covered the inside of the egg with the same process. I added a hinge to the back to allow the egg to open to hide a gift.

Simon Says Stamp is offering a  $50.00 gift voucher for one randomly selected participant in the challenge, so come join in on the inspiration this week.

Thanks for stopping by!
