Tim's December tags are here. The only problem for me was I was missing the key ingredients. I had to improvise...
The background is a mix of Broken China & Tarnished Pewter Distress Stains. I never seem to get the same effect as Tim and this was about my 4th try to replicate the effect. I die cut my soldier from a scrap of the same background. I die cut the soldier again in Metallic Tape Foil. I also die cut him from a book and a map. They both look very cool. Just need to use the rest of my army on future projects.
I stamped text over the background using grey versafine ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I added the Postcard stamp using black Stazon over the embossed background along the right edge. The silver pieces on the soldier also received some text stamped in black Stazon. The Joy is also a stamp stamped on the metallic tap and cut out.
Products: Ranger - Metal Foil Sheets, Sizzix Tin Soldier

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunner Suzz. Your tag is just incredible.
ReplyDeleteI never seem to have the right items for Tim's projects either (despite having loads!!). You've improvised very well here and the soldier is great - another die I'd not spotted and might need. I like the effect on the background and of course no two will ever come out the same which is part of the fun. Great tag.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would ever have looked at that soldier die and thought 'I need that' but I liked him the first time you used it Sue and you said you wanted to make him again using book pages and he looks fabulous. The whole tag is wonderful and you are so clever with your improvisations.
