Stampendous Blog Hop - Things with Wings

Today is a special Stampendous Saturday!  The design team created special projects using products from the latest release and are sharing them via a blog hop.

My project  is a curio box of things with wings.

My box started as a shoe box top.  I covered the entire surface using old music paper, white acrylic paint and distressing using Ranger Distress Ink - Vintage Photo.  the little compartments were cut from the shoe box and reinforced with tape and glue to stay in place.

A close up of each of the sections to share the wonderful texture and stamps:

I started with plastic eggs and a nest from my local hobby shop. I added Taupe Color Fragments and Blue Color Fragments onto the eggs by applying Versamark and a little Aged Taupe Embossing Enamel.  I heated up the embossing enamel and while it was still hot I dipped it into my fragments.  (I did this using my tweezers which have a nice rubber handle to keep my fingers from getting warm.)

The second compartment contains the beautiful Songbird stamped in black and colored with Ranger Distress Ink - Vintage photo.  I added some of the beautiful sage color fragment to his chest and a feather to his wing. The nest is a combination of moss mixed with the sage and Taupe color fragments. In the background is the Cling Jumbo Rosehips stamped in brown ink and colored with watercolor pencils.

The next box contains the lovely Cling Rose Corset stamped in black.  Colored using an orange dye ink. Accented with butterfly wings from Cling Butterfly Post.  I stamped the butterfly on white cardstock using black ink.  Cut out butterfly. Cut it half. Glimmer mist the butterfly with blue glimmer mist. Accent the butterfly wings with Rose Color Fragments. Glimmer mist coordinating flowers.

The last box on the top row features the new Jumbo Cling Hollyhocks (Love this stamp).  Stamp twice on white cardstock and spray with pink glimmer mist. Cut out outline for background and cut out flowers only for top layer. Accent centers of flower with Rose Color Fragments.  Stamp Dragonfly Vine using black ink on white cardstock. Two times. Spray with blue glimmer mist.  Cut out outline. Cut out wings from second dragonfly. Attach wings to body.  Apply glue to top wings and sprinkle Steel Blue Glass Glitter to wings.

The next two boxes:

I die cut the Sizzix birdcage two times.  Stamped the Postal stamp from the Eiffel Tower Perfectly Clear Stamps using brown ink. repeat until surface is covered. Sponge brown dye ink over surface. Repeat on both birdcages. Cut opening in one of the birdcages.  Accent cage with blue color fragments. Stamp bird and color with distress inks.  The trick to the suspended cages is acetate. I folded acetate to hold my floating objects in place.

The next scene is the corset and wings from the lovely Corset Ladies Perfectly Clear Stamps.  Stamped twice once on white cardstock.  The second image was stamped on acetate. The wings are speckled with Blue Color Fragments.  the background includes the text from the set stamped over the music sheets.

The final boxes:

It is difficult to see in the little box, but the flowers are made from tissue paper stamped with the fun Cling Distressed Type and spritzed with pink glimmer mist.  The centers include rose color fragments.  The bee is a metal charm encrusted with Aged Gold Embossing Enamel and Bronze Glass Glitter.

The last box is from the Time Flies set. The clock is stamped multiple times on acetate using StazOn ink. The main image was stamped on white cardstock with a hint of blue.  The wings embossed in Aged Gold Embossing Enamel.

Sorry for the long details!
