My first tag using the fall colors:
I wasn't happy with the fact that I didn't get a good resist effect and my leaves had splotches which led to my second tag:
I made sure I had better ink and resist on this tag. I also switched out to my Broken China and Concord Grape distress stains.
The stamp is a new Stampendous Leaf Sprig for my main image. I love how it shows up in the resist effect.
The Postcard and script on my first tag is from the Stampers Anonymous Letter to Santa CMS053 set. I also used the stitching from the Stampers Anonymous Spring Sprung CMS084 set.
The sentiment is Stampendous - Life is Art and the butterfly from Stampendous -Butterflies.
The little wood birds are from Studio Calico. I keep buying their sets of wood pieces and they are fun to use for an added texture. The charm is idea-ology as is the safety pin. I used Ranger Distress Stains - Broken China, Concord Grape, Wild Honey, Vintage Photo
Picket Fence

WOW! These tags are just gorgeous and even better than Tim's, I think! I love the splotchy leaves on the first one - makes the leaves look more aged. But, I love the colors of the second one the best and the way you used the white to accent the words. Gorgeous work, Suzz!
ReplyDeleteLove these tags, Sue! I'm drawn to the fall colors, can you believe it? Always love your work, Sue!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful distress tags!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on boh tags.
ReplyDeleteStunning tags, the leaf sprig is very eye catching and I love the sentiment. I love those birds too, they are a great filler aren't they. Wonderful resist and striking colours. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteI actually like the way your leaves have a bit of ink on them! Both tags are stunning, Suzz!
ReplyDeleteI see you are keeping up the amazing work! I am also thinking that I want to do other colours so maybe tomorrow I'll find some time :-).
ReplyDeleteThink I prefer the autumn colours but they are the colours that I am nearly always drawn to so no big surprise there.

Wow, I love both tags ! How cute are these little birds on your first tag !
ReplyDeleteBest regards Berdien
Absolutely Stunning! Love the colors and sentiment on the 2nd one.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! I absolutely love your autumnal resist, and the fabulous stamping on it too... just luscious! The sentiment on the second is so appropriate because it is just dreamy!

I love both these tags Sue. I suppose I can see why you were unhappy with the resist on the first one but to be honest I really like the effect and I definitely love the colours of Autumn. Those little birds are delightful by the way. The second tag is equally beautiful and even though it has a butterfly it makes me think 'frosty' maybe because I'm feeling the cold here today, lol! I love the white highlighting on the sentiment and the stitch effect stamping.
ReplyDeleteYou should not be surprised by the number of your followers Sue. Your creativity is amazing and your blog is always a source of fabulous inspiration so you deserve every single one and more.

WOW - I actually really like the first tag Suzz. The way the ink has not resisted fully gives such a rustic look. And you second tag just looks totally awesome. No wonder so many of us follow you. Your work is stunning and such fun to view. Thanks for being such an inspiring artist!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tags! And congrats on hitting 600 followers!!
ReplyDeleteThey are both so beautiful, Suz! I never tire of seeing your posts...they are wonderfully varied but always terrific. Love the rich colors of the first one, but I really love the color combo used on the second.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with both tags but that second one is the stand out for me the colours and how it all comes together really jump out from the gallery. beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tags! I love that leaf sprig stamp.
ReplyDeletebeautiful Sue. love the contrasting versions. I dont think the fact that the resist didn't work fully on the first one detracts from it at all. I must add that sentiment stamp to my collection on the second one (!). Your lace embellishment and the butterfly add the perfect texture.
ReplyDeleteGreat takes on Tim's tag - I really like the leaves on your first one!! Hugs, Buttons x
ReplyDeleteI agree, I like how the leaves on the 1st tag looks; both are pretty. I'm not too much into fall colors and I like the first tag a lot.
ReplyDeleteActually, I love the splotches on the first tag, but when you're the designer, you know what you're after. I really like the second tag, too, so you're two for two.
ReplyDeleteWow! Suzanne these are super tags and I love both for their different qualities.
ReplyDeleteYou now have another new follower!
